So as a few of you know my k20z1's life ended February 1, 2011.
Rest in pieces.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
They say the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem so here goes nothing....
Well guys my names Adam ... And I have a heavy foot.
I'll start there. Lol. When I turn the key in my RSX I get in kill mode... Straight up.
I enjoy the shit out of my car and its build.
I was on my way to work and decided to "play" a little.... just a little bit.
Pull out of the daycare center onto the main rd. cruised through 1st. Grabbed 2nd and rolled on the throttle. Instant wheel spin....pegged to revlimiter of 8600rpm. Held that for ~5seconds while I gained speed. WOT shifted to 3rd and revs steadily increased And I mean steady. It was almost as if my tach was glued in place with the needle buried past the 9k mark. I held it there because I liked how it sounded popping (out my exhaust) and because again I have a heavy foot. It must have spun 3rd at those RPM's for atleast 4 seconds....then I ran out of gear WOT to 4th and...
KA-BLUEEEEEEE (KA-blu-e)
(spell check me bro) lol
I heard the most horrible crunching ever. And I swear on my life that I looked in the rear view and I saw a piston skirt bounce off the ground and back up to my eye level. Almost as if to say...
You dumb f*ck! And winked at me.
Now to clear all things. The car was tuned by John Schill of Absolute Pro-Formance. They are currently building my new motor...I'll get more into that later on in the build.
The tune was flawless. My heavy foot I what blew my engine to pieces (tear)
So out with the old and in with the new.
Engine got built by John Schill of Absolute.
I had an injector and fuel pump problem all at the same time. Both Things I installed in my first build.
With that said, on the dyno i could see it venting from the valve cover pretty heavily. Even after a pull it smoked for about 10 minuets.
So we did a leak down test and determined it was cylinder number 4 that was our problem child. It had 70% leak down. Yay!!! Not.
Pulled the motor tore it down and cylinder 4 had a ring crack and wore my sleeve on my motor out of round. So I decided to ditch that block and go for another.
But the good news about that motor...
It made great...I mean GREAT power for being hurt.
Dyno video of 419whp pull.

Made 420/250 (who/trq) And that was just the initial first few pulls getting the A/f's right at 0* cam advance and 14* ignition advance.
So still more left in her. And that's on the 70% leakin cylinder also. That's the Yay!!

I want that bent piston/connecting rod! lol
oh and BTW: I'd kill for your engine build setup... I want to build another engine soon. Great work Adam!
That's wassup dude. That's essentially what I'm doing also. I had never seen a rod so bent in my life without snapping. Lol
