I've been interested in this topic for a long time, but I'm stumped at this point. Maybe you guys can chime in and help. I've been looking for a license plate cover that electronically hides your rear plate. Preferably, I'd be looking for this exactly:
I have found the following sites/videos for sites (and others not listed):
http://www.privacyplates.com/Privacy...om_-_Home.html

And I want to make one myself. From what I understand, these use LCD glass that, once a charge is applied, turns opaque (not see through). These are all $150+ and I'd like to make one myself. There are WAY TOO MANY red-light cameras in NY and I want to beat the punch.
Any information is definitely appreciated.

This is so illegal its not even funny... why not just not break the law and you don't have worry lol
Not like I can talk since I'm a very aggressive driver to say the least
but man thats hella james bond.. i like it
Spoolin, I believe this is your best bet:
Reason being, it's smaller than your license plate and doesn't cover it. In NY, and most states, anything covering a license plate, even a clear material, is deemed illegal. The flipaplate is a SICK idea and no one will ever know. Just don't be a dumbass and flip it down or back up mid-intersection where the camera can see it, or in front of a cop.
