No one knows?
Spoke to a few people on another forum. Apparently, we aren't supposed to use DOT 5 brake fluid because it is synthetic and will ruin our ABS. I was told DOT 5.1 is what I should have gotten. I use DOT 5 without a problem, anyone else chime in?

Dot 5 is a silicone based fluid. You should not run it in your abs system.
When abs kicks in it will make the fluid bubble up and make air in the system. ASE certified in brakes back in 04.

So DOT5.1 or DOT4 is the way to go? Any specific ones I should be looking into? Congrats on becoming a jr member btw
Turns out that with DOT5 fluid, my wheels lock up when I slam on the brakes as if I have no ABS. Must change it out ASAP!!

I use DOT4 as well, works fine for me Much better than the OEM DOT3, that used to fade if I had to stop short -__-
