    No I didn't use any I was going to but I tried it and the fitting didn't leak in the cap .I thought it would but as long as you don't drill the hole to big in the cap and the fitting threads in tight then your good at least mine is .

    So you did spin the fitting while pushing it in? But you drilled it with just a regular drill bit, right? Not an NPT tap?

    No I clamped the fitting in the vise and pressed down on the cap and threaded it onto the fitting .

    yeah I posted a pic above of the fitting clamped in the vise then ya spin the pvc cap onto it
