I've been missing from all my forums. Been crazy busy, here's some quick pics from a harness im working on, Ill let the client take the final pics when ready, but here are a few build pics to keep this thread alive
Started with these
Then added shielded wire
For those that don't know, shielded blocks electrical interference from other circuits such as the spark plug wires. They provide the ECU with a clean signal to properly read a certain calibration from the crank and cam sensors. In a K20 motor, they are not really needed as it is overkill, but i wanted it to be brick solid wiring! Also the knock sensor wire is shielded to help from "mass" noise and reduce miss diagnosed knock.
Then first layer was wrapped
Then the last layer
That was just the chassis side to the ECU. The engine side starts off similar
A little "T" Breakout
Notice how the wires are hand twisted throughout the entire harness. This is for reliability, sturdiness, size reduction, and above all.. flexibility, 50+ wires feel like one single cable when done like this
Beginning of Raychem
These end boots are pricier than you think..
and the final pic before pin to pin testing begins
yeah thats a sick ass harness great work new pics of the finished product to come soon
