It's job is to deliver constant fuel in all situations. Hard cornering when perhaps your fuel swishes to the right side of your tank and exposes the in tank pick up. Same goes for hard acceleration and deceleration.

Ok, and the surge doesn't suffer from that because it is so small? Or because there isn't an actual pick-up in the surge tank?

The primary fuel pump fills the surge all the way up and then delivers fuel to the rail. Exits the rail and goes back into the surge. Once the surge is full the extra fuel travels back to the tank to ensure absolutely 0 chance of leaning out from lack of fuel delivery during turns acceleration and deceleration. And the in line fuel pump sucks fuel out of the surge tank to the rail forgot to add that.

This is how I have mine set up as well and never an issue it's also nice to be able to ride around with less fuel "weight" in the main tank .I have one 255 in my main tank feeding my surge tank and 2 Bosch 044s off the surge tank supplying the rail via a -10 an line then to the fpr and then back to the surge tank and out of surge to the main tank .The set up works very very well .

Phase 1 of the fuel setup.

Modified the OEM fuel cage assembly, ran the feed to the surge, and overflow back to the cage.

    Phase 2 to come soon..

This all looks way too familiar- im doing the exact same thing to my fuel cage as we speak. What did you use to plug the stock return to the intank regulator?
