    Well, so far car has held up to all the abuse. I'm going to be on the lookout for another stock trans and see if mine breaks this summer. Hopefully I can save up for those gears, if my trans goes I'll put the spare in and try to order those gears. That's a lot of scratch but peace of mind is precious.
    How much stronger would gears be when shotpeened?

    Realistically, not much stronger. In the end, the real solution is bulletproofing the transmission. Granted you can go through OEM gears several times for the price of PPGs, PPGs get installed once. And if something happens, lifetime warranty.
