I have done the TL on an 8th gen myself. No quality and performance can beat OEM when that's an option. I know that the DBW is a real beast to work with.
I'm running a tsx and it's a bolt on process, though I would like the j37tb because oem is best . The skunk2 needs to be calibrated and it can be a pain !
