Worked on the water pump housing a little today. Started cutting the factory pulley belt tensioner as I'll be running the K-tuned a/c and p/s eliminator kit.

Must clean these oil stains because I can't stand looking at them. Throttle body cleaner melts these off like butter.

Water Pump removed. Might get this replaced while I am at it.

This is the part I'll be cutting off and smoothing it down for paint. Has been done plenty of time before and looks straight forward.

I also had the chance to paint the motor today. Decent weather + the aid of a cardboard box booth powered by a heat gun did a wonderful job at baking it haha. I used a steak digital thermometer and kept the temperature at around 40-50 degrees Celsius. Pretty much trying to mimic painting this on a hot day.

Thanks, I put in a lot of hours just to paint and bake it and I'm really happy with the results.

There's a few thing I'll be removing to get sand blasted and coated.

    Rocker cover

    Timing chan cover

    Timing chain tensioner cover

    Oil sump

    Thank you! I do too.

    Removed the oil pan today.

The pan was pretty clean with no sludge build up all all, just slight oil stain due to it sitting for to long. I cleaned it out to get it sand blasted, weld on oil return fitting and coated gloss black.

I was meant to use a k24 steel oil pan opposed to the k20 aluminum pan but I only just found out the pan has a massive dent from the bottom.

I'm trying to do as much as I can while the motor is out. I would of loved to take a picture of the booth I made but It's not very photogenic

More work done on the motor tonight. I feel so hooked working on the car at the moment and need this to last untill the day I turn the key. inb4snorlax.

Cleaned the head up of the oil stains a tad, because slightly ocd. I then brushed it with fresh oil to keep it lubricated.

Test fitted the rocker cover and really digging that blue.

K-tuned coil pack cover looking at home.

Started putting back on a few things to the motor as the paint is safe to handle.

Chucked on a brand new oem oil filter while I was at it.

Just in case anyone was curious to where the dipstick levels leveled with the oil pump feed

I started cleaning the exhaust ports, slight ocd kicking in again.

I got too excited, yes again... and mounted the JDL manifold.

    Things didn't just ended there....

I sent the turbo cover off to get powder coated so just a naked looking turbo for now.

Yup, I brushed the seal with fresh oil and half filled the filter only though. Should be ok yeah?
