I have two 12" fans no shroud and the fans set to come on at 175 the car runs 188-190 on cruise when it's 90 degrees outside with a 185 degree oem t stat. While sitting in summer traffic 90 degrees outside , stop and go not moving much. Then I see 195-197 and if I run the piss out of the car it actually likes it and cools to 185-188 ish
Thats good that your cooling with a half rad I had a mishimoto half rad with a 2100 cfm fan at one time and it did the job also but the fan seemed to run a lot .I opted for the tucked rad after that and was told it would be fine and cool way better well that was incorrect as the tucked rad was more like a you just got *ucked rad lol and I am glad I sold it and went with the full size .I now don't have to worry about engine temps for the first time since I've had the car .
Ok, as far as the radiator fans, they come on at 195. Was told that 180 doesn't allow the engine to come up to operating temp. That didn't seem right to me as when you are driving air is being blown through radiator anyhow. But this is not the big problem with my car at the moment so I guess I will let these guys figure it out and then keep an eye on it. I will change the fan temp when I get it back if I have issues.
I hope the radiator is not the problem because to change that to a full size the whole piping layout needs to be changed and that is why I brought the car in to the shop in the first place. All that fabrication I know I could never reasonably do.
I hope it doesn't get to that part but if you guys are having issues then maybe the PO did too and just got frustrated. I don't know. Here I thought I had the trick set up and was going to be driving and enjoying before having to deal with issues like this. I love the power but the hemorrhoids are beginning to flare. I must say. I am too deep to turn back now so...

Blown head gasket...
If not then all that headwork was for naught. Someone told me perhaps they didn't properly torque the head. If it is then it's on them to fix. I'm going tomorrow to have a word with them. Hopefully it's just a bad gasket. But that would be too easy wouldn't it?
Improper torqueing is possible. Properly maintained tq wrenches and digital tq wrenches are very, very important. Keep us in the loop, I hope all is well

Did you get your head bolts replaced with studs? Did they reuse the head bolts? I think you are supposed to replace them when you take it out. I could be mistaken on that though.
