My a2 billet 6265 turbo build

well good new and bad news.

Good news first: Boost creep was minimized. I replaced all my pushlocks with a higher grade, same with the line and voila. was hitting 16 psi and it was falling to 12.8 by 7000rpm (boost controller dropped the boost). So i was pretty excited.



Bad news: Took one last drive tonight to see if it hold up in 4th. Held 15lbs to 8600rpm... then cruised along, pulled off the highway to go home and it was running on 3 cylinders. Air fuel in boost was holding 11.9-12.1 ( aem wideband) so either the injector quit working or the sensor is bad. There's Lots and lots of smoke pouring out of my catchcan and dipstick. Vitals on Kpro showed perfect. 190 degree temperature, -21.5 vacuum at idle, 13.9afr at idle. So what gives? Number 2 spark plug is missing the electrode, so it got pretty hot. My guess, metled a hole in the piston or valve.

Oh well. Ill take the head off next week sometime and post some pictures. :P

Wow, I don't know what to say. I hope this isn't as bad as it seems to be. what's your plan of attack if that's the case?

well i guess i havent updated this in a long time. haha

Motor melted a piston/scuffed up the cylinder wall. I had the machine shop bore/hone/deck/clean another 2.0 to 87mm. This time around i assembled the motor to my specs and enjoyed it. It really wasnt that hard to do, but i had to source out a few specialty tools.




Picked up some tires. these will do for the back, looking at toyo r888 in 225 for this season


then i finally got in some stff to reassemble my motor



inbetween the engine build we decided to expand our family. We picked up a 8 week old black lab called Shadow

Finally had it all back in. I did all this in my driveway, what a pain in the ass.




I then bought an 08 ridgeline to haul the teg to the track for 2013. Love this vehicle



After that i did nothing but drived the car for the rest of the year. No new dyno, no track times. Last gas stop before storage.

Now whats on the go for this winter? Nothing really. We're buying a house with garage so im focusing on that. Spring time comes, im going to put new clevite bearings in, GE headstuds from TD autowerks, all new rings re gapped and taking it to BT Performance for a tune. Goal is 600whp on meth stock sleeves.

Picked up a few small things this winter.

dual pod cluster. I was tired of having the AEM wideband on the steering column. Also picked up an electronic oil pressure gauge



GF got me this through AFH for Vday. OEM type r key. My guess is she wants the other key :P




Ordered another 44mm mvr gate along with acl race bearings. Im not dealing with creep this summer.

well we took a trip to Quebec for a dyno day at BT Performance on Saturday. Spent the night there and Sunday they snuck my car on the dyno for a few hours to get it tuned up a little.




504whp 363trq @ 18.5 psi pump gas.

Next step is race weekend in two weeks. THEN hopefully back up to them for a c16 and 25psi tune


oh and i drove it there, 550km. 15 dyno pulls, 30 km driving around town, and 550km back home :P

The tuner had a knock sensor set up bolted to the motor with head phones. He listens for knocks and pings. He said same thing, motor sounds real healthy with no noises.

It definetly scared the crap out of me when i was l passing a car on the way home in 4th. I cant imagine cars with 600+

went to the track this weekend.

Started off shitty, but i havent raced in 3 years and on this set up. STarted off at 12.2@125mph, then the tuner came down and track tuned it more. I did 7 passes and went from 12.2@125mph to 11.3@131mph. Its definetly got 10sin it with some c16 and remove the interior. This was full weight integra





The green civic was running a type r with eagle rods and wiseco pistons. Stock sleeves and gt35r. It ran 10.75@133.

Nice!! I took a study break because I saw you updated your thread. And I'm glad I did. Congrats bud, definitely 10's in there. Any vids?
In terms of "getting the hang of it again" what did you really have to focus on, your launches? Your shifts? I know your tuner helped tune, so what tuning issues did you have?

Ya need to get hang of the half track. my 1.9 60 foots arent great, they should be 1.7 at this track. Even second gear with the slicks i had some spinning happening which slowed down my 330.

It was a very hot day, over 100 degrees easy. When i got there, first two passes i was only hitting 15-16 psi, and my AFR was low 10s. So by the end my afr was mid 11s and we turned the boost up a few more to get it back at 18-19psi. After my 11.3 i started to get heat soak, my IAT were 130 and was too hot
