    Bov bad?

I was driving home and noticed that the bov was not going off.. I was not playing with it just normal driving. So I gave it half throttle to boost and sure enough it didnt go off.

Checked lines and piping everything is fine, even gauge is reading normal vacuum.

Did my bov go bad and how bad is it to drive like this?

the blow off valve is to help release any back pressure from your turbo. Blowoff valves are used to prevent compressor surge.

I've never had one go bad..

i dont know what the HKS are line, but the tial has a diaphragm inside along with a spring. you could always take it apart and see if its ripped, but even so, you'd lose boost.

    check your vaccum line again.

I don't think the BOV being bad wouldn't let you boost, I think you would get bad flutter because the relief valve (bov) wouldn't allow a release of pressure and the turbo would spin "backwards" to allow the pressure to release.

"As I lay rubber down to street, I pray for traction I can keep. But if I spin and begin to slide, please oh please protect my ride."

I'm seriously confused on what It could be. I checked all couplers and there on tight, vacuums are connected. I'm out of ideas besides the bov either being stuck open or just bad.

Took apart the bov and the piston slides back and forth with no issue so it's not stuck. Now I'm completely out of ideas. And if the piping would of popped off, the car would have a weird idle and not be drivable. So it's not that. And like I stated no vacuum leaks.

The bov's diaphragm isnt ripped? And are you sure the vacuum line isn't clogged or pinched? Just other ideas.
