For a lot of us it has happened and also a good amout it hasnt...but we gotta face the facts...our trannys arent anything special.

so what was the story with your tranny?

so far, i have a 3rd gear synchro thats on the way out. high rpm it will grind going in.


I dont expect it to last past summer once i get it to the 500whp mark. Only thing saving me so far, is its a 2.0 motor, not 2.4

well so far so good but its a ticking time bomb I know its gonna happen .I was putting down 463 / 304 for about 1000 miles then was putting down 501/314 pump 576/376 Q16 for about 600-700 miles and now putting down 522/338pump and 585/414 Q16 .Trans seems good so far one thing I will not do is launch it hard on the street and dont do burn outs either .I do run the shit out of it once rolling though . I have had it down the track a few times launching at 4600 , 5600 and now 6500 .I did buy two spare transmissions as back up but havent needed them yet .The car is gonna hit the track this week , and again on aug 6,7 at MIR for import revolution as long as all goes well .It will be my first big event with the car

Vdub, Dam now I have hope that it'll last a while since ur able to put down 500+ lol

I'm wondering what's the golden number for when it'll break. Don't really feel like having my car on jack stands again

k24s love to break trannys with over 500whp, just because of the torque they make compared to the 2.0. I dont launch my car on the street. At the track last year i was launch at 7000 rpm with 4psi on 23" slicks.

So far so good for me.

I have a 6speed

Boosted for ~10k miles

I drive it pretty hard. Wot shifts and all.

Track launch at 7500 on 24.5" slicks makin about 14 psi on the line.

I have a comp clutch stage 4 with a factory flywheel.

We'll see how it goes once tuned again.

Change your tranny fluid. That should help some. But mine whines and has had no issue.
