Might run my car down there, it'd be my first time at the track. What's needed, etc? Talking lamen's terms, never raced at a track too. I know helmets are needed, I have 2 DOT motorcycle helmets (HJC and ARAI) are they cool?

I doubt a motorcycle will suffice.
I think it should, a $1k motorcycle helmet has more approval certifications thingymabobers than regular motorcycle helmets and car racing helmes. Off the top of my head, It's DOT and SNELL approved
