This has been my most recent thought of sabotaging my own completion date. I wanted to get a twin scroll mani/turbo that is still relatively small but will make about 500 whp.

You could make 500hp with he GT30. I'm at 490 right now in my GT30 at 17-18 psi on pump 93, 10:1 compression pistons, stock cams.
