Super late update (12/5/15)
Ruck has been done for quite some time now. I unveiled the scoot at the Boosted Life 2013 event in the summer, albeit unfinished. I worked on the bike more and went to Honda Day in Englishtown, NY with both my Si and Ruckus. Both won 1st place, which was a humbling feeling - especially since both were ~90% finished! Threw temp black paint on the bike, which was not the color I was planning on using. Did the trick though. On to the pics:

Well, I've been building this Ruckus for about two months now. She should be done in 4 weeks from now. I work on her once a week with RND RACING. It's a great process, however very time consuming. Hard work pays off, and I'm sure that this will.
_______________________________________________ UPDATE: 5/5/13 http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/8781/ruckus.jpg
So, obviously the jump from a modded 1000cc R1 to a 50cc Ruckus is as big of a jump as it sounds. But the Ruckus is so damn fun to ride that the tremendous power sacrifice is worth it. It's the modding and riding experience that gets you. With that said, I found a need for more power. Topping out at 42mph prevents me from going on highways and parkways, which is a pain because you can't cruise with anyone but a 50cc Ruckus. So I figured boost is the "dark side" of the k-series world. And a motor swap is the "dark side" of the Ruckus world. So...
I'm doing a GY6 150cc motor swap to replace the 50cc. I'll make sure to keep you all updated throughout this process, my goal is to be finished by the end of June!
Parts I have:
10x8 new rear wheel (need to sell)
10x3 new front NCY wheel (need to sell)
Full NCY front end kit
Mini headlight swap
Single low mirror
LEGO GET Mount unassembled (need to sell)
GY6 Short Axle
Parts on the way:
GY6 Longcase (Rucksters)
12x8 3+5 4/110 DWT Rear Wheel
MAX GY6 Hub; pressed out studs and rethreaded for 4/110 wheel
Mojo Weld-on GY6 Mount
Front Tire: Kenda K433 100/60/12
Rear Tire: Avon Viper 140/70/12
Password:JDM Drag Frame Brace (Chin Bone)
Parts I need:
Wiring harness (http://www.composimo.com/Makoa-Scooters ... _p_13.html)
11-pole stator (with harness)
Exhaust (Ti Akra)
Carburator (not sure which)
Intake (not sure which)
Rear Drum Brake (NCY??)
Flywheel/clutch
Variator/springs etc
Mikuni Fuel Pump
This list will grow

This is my 2012 Honda Ruckus NPS50. Purchased brand new from the dealership. :jelly:
It's fun to drive, gets 120+mpg, and tops out at 42mph - for now. I plan on doing some minor mods, nothing crazy like a motor swap. Mainly using this to keep miles off my Si.
Mod List
1. GY6 Radiator Scoop Not Installed
2. Smoked LED R6 Taillight with Integrated Turn Signals Not Installed
3. Custom 125cc Pocket Bike Exhaust Removed for Engine Break-in
4. R1 Frame Slider Foot Pegs (FSFP)
one of my boys just bought one. I never TRULY understood the Ruckus scene until now. Now I want one too lol
It's awesome, literally can't explain it. I just wish someone I knew local had one so we could ride together.

You'll love it. I wanna turbo it, but the stock GET engine wouldn't create 1psi of boost if it had to.

I'm 5'9 and currently 170. Lots of 200+ guys get em, but you gotta get a new variator if you wanna get some good top speed and acceleration. I love this thing!

Just installed my Venom variator last night with 6g rollers, loving it so far. Dropped down do 5.5g rollers this morning and it won't go faster than 42mph. I'll keep tinkering and see what happens. I also drilled 4 holes in my CVT cover, because at 120 miles I had more dust than I wanted to have. Should help keep temperature down a bit, and keep some dust out. http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/8...0527115913.jpg http://img864.imageshack.us/img864/3...0527115932.jpg
I haven't updated this in a bit, I'll post some updated pics soon

How much did this bad boy set you back? I was actually looking at one a while back but didn't wanna go threw the hassle of getting a new license.

I already had my motorcycle license anyway, so it was a no-brainer for me. New they run ~2570 msrp. I got mine for 2404 before tax, brand new. :)
Its just a stretched ruckus. There are various lengths, basically the motor mount is made to space the motor further back. My stretch for my mount is 12", and I can't wait to install over the winter.

Tiite. How much does a stretch kit cost on average?
And is it something that's difficult to do?

~250-300 beans. Very easy to do, as a scooter motor/tranny/rear wheel is essentially one piece. You can't stretch the swingarm like bikes do, so you space the motor back. The kit I bought needs to be welded together, which is why I bought it. Ran $125 with the extended shock arm. Allows for a really wide wheel and will sit perfectly center (or completely off if you mess up, lol).
Full upgraded front end for the Ruck. New NCY shocks, NCY 2-piston disc brake conversion, NCY floating disc wave rotor (will be sold and replaced with a different, nicer rotor), SS line, NCY master cylinder, black hardware for new lever and MC, and new 10" silver front wheel. Selling that front wheel for a 12"x3 front 5-spoker. Love it?

Lol fck I wish I knew more about scooters so I could understand this more lol. Had a old 87 yahmaha scooter my dad gave me, rode it and all these fluids just started poring out and couldn't use it no more so I have it to this chick I knew....she got it fixed and it ended up just being the fuel line popping off

That's gonna look sick as fuck! What rotor will you be replacing the NCY one with? I like the look of the wavey one.

They're really awesome, especially if you love to mod. Obviously we all do, thats why this forum is a forum haha. Best thing i've ever bought. Love it to death!

Probably a Poon floating wave rotor, gotta upgrade to that for the new wheel and hub adapter to mate with the new front end anyway. Ill try to grab a pic, its still gonna be a wave rotor tho, i love wave rotors!

Well, if you are going to be caught riding a scooter then the ruckus is definitely the coolest one out. I love the way they mod them all crazy but I have four bikes and the smallest is 1000cc. It must feel strange riding so low to the ground. I really would like to ride a tricked out one sometime. So many wheels, so little time...

question is...when are you going to boost it? If I didn't have so many projects I would buy one. I asked my wife if she would ride one and I guess no was the answer. Women, I asked her five times to go out to the garage and get an adjustable wrench and Philips screwdriver and it was like talking a foreign language. I even gave her the nut to go match to the wrench and she brought me five wrenches and none of them fit then the last time one big wrench. Swear she was a blonde. lol Moral of story is, never send a woman to do a man's job.

Yea man, I know that feeling. I went from a fully modded R1 to the Ruckus. Needless to say, the end of this post will make sense. Read on..

I originally wanted to, but it doesn't do anything realistically. Top speed is the same, realistically doesn't increase power enough to justify the amount you spend on it, basically it just decreases the life of your motor with nothing to show for. And that's if you do a 150cc GY6 swap.

I have a brand new GY6 150cc motor on the way to replace the 50cc. That will need a new wire harness, new stator, fuel pump, ignition, motor mount, literally everything. So, I figured why not. Bought a full front-end upgrade last year in preparation for this upgrade. Two piston caliper and wave rotor disc brakes up front to replace the sub-par stock drum brakes, stainless lines, new levers and master cylinder, lowered shocks, the works. I'll be upgrading to a 12x4 front wheel, and a 12x8 rear wheel. Gonna be great. I'll make sure to keep you all updated throughout this process, my goal is to be finished by the end of June!
Updated the first post with detailed info on my setup. Goal is to have this done by June 25th, test and tune then go on the NYC Ruckus Ride and Fresh Meet in NJ June 29th & 30th!!

Decided to go with a gray/black theme. I've never seen it done before, and I fell in love with the color for my front caliper (4 piston FTW). Thoughts? http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/22/hupyhepe.jpg

Early morning wake up call! Ruckus teardown officially begins today. Going to take a bunch of pics today to keep track of things, so I'll keep you all updated.
No welding anything today, but the plan is a full teardown of the stock setup and assessment of the next couple weeks for planning the build and completion - step by step.
