Picked the car up at the body shop on Thursday Oct 29,
Dropped the motor in Friday Oct 30,
Drove to Perris, CA to Sheepey Built and was at the shop 11pm on Oct 31st
Left Sheepey at next afternoon at 4pm after pulling an all nighter.
Rolled into SEMA Monday Nov 1st.

Was a very sped up process to get the car ready for that event, but there is still stuff to do before the car will be ready to run.

The loose ends I need to tie up before she will run are: the Fuel system, the Brake lines, and RyWire tucked radiator and 16 an hoses all have to be installed.

Once that is all together and tight, I will post another update!

Hopefully i will have some numbers to share with you guys within the next few weeks!

Thank to everyone who has been following my build over the years, i finally made it! lol

Had a little time over the thanksgiving holiday weekend to put in a few hours.

Ran the extended fuse box power harness thru a hidden grommet behind the passenger fender and up to the passenger air bag area. mounting the engine bay fuse box there!

Started the extension process for the fuse box, calculated that I will need 183' of 18 gauge wire, and 39 feet of 12 gauge.
I should get the wire soon so i can finish the harness. Going to be solder and shrinking all connections.

Also, re-loomed and shrinked the charge harness. All plugged connections are already built into the engine wiring harness, so only connections for the charge are 8gauge from battery, for alternator and starter.

My builder specialized in k-series motor and heads and he added an oil mod to the head to better lubricate the cam journals.
There is a port on the side of the head that i will run the oil feed line to.

He tapped a custom oil feed port by the temp sensor.
He also tapped a second port on the right side (not shown), and plugged it just in case i want to add an additional sensor.

Hell of a build! Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on SEMA man, very cool! Loving the oil tap for the cams.

Beautiful build! Big congratulations on making it to SEMA! Oil tap is very interesting, I've never seen that before! Surely looking forward to the rest of your build. Brake tuck looks promising! Wiring looks like hell, but good for you for tackling it!

Power goal is 600whp on this setup.
I will probably get a more conservative street tune for now since I am still running stock trans and axles....
I don't want to completely ruin the trans yet lol

The wiring I'm not looking forward to finishing, but it should turn out all good in the end!!

I do plan to have the car running and tuned by mid January!! ill be posting more updates as they come

I like the goals and conservative tune part. Reality is, the trans can go at any time. Are you running an LSD? IIRC the DC5's didn't come with one, just the Si's? I'm with [MENTION=1]BoostedK20[/MENTION] on that one, wiring is one thing I hated doing on my car. Even the basic stuff, it's just not my forte. I'm definitely in for those upcoming updates! As for your build running my mid-Jan, do you think anything will possible limit you? I know there is always unforeseen stuff that comes up, but I'm JW.

Hey man, I know it can be annoying but I think snapping a few pics while doing things could really help people out that want to do things but don't have the money to pay a shop. They can DIY and learn at the same time. I'm not a K-series guy but it would be cool to those in need. Maybe even those that aren't K-series related like how to do basic wiring shit. Idk, I'm just thinking it could be helpful lol. Cheers either way, don't wanna put you on the spot. I just remember when I was doing my build a lot of people PM'd me asking about how to do things or how I did things. I never took any pictures because I had a desktop computer and still use a flip phone. I could draw a better picture than my phone can take - and I can't draw for shit.

Money is the only thing holding me back at this point to finish. I've spent..... $(a large sum of money)... just in the past 3 months to get it ready for SEMA, and i have a couple thousand left to spend, so I'm just saving my pennies to finish up by the end of the year. (tune, brake booster delete kit, fluids, misc parts, misc fittings)

Glad you take pictures of everything, that's a good habit to have! I remember times where I wish I could remember how something went before I took it apart, and I always hear the 'well if you had a smart phone you could take a picture' line. Cool man, looking forward to your updates and pictures for sure!

Also, money is definitely a holder-backer. I saw a video meme on facebook earlier today about 'oh you need to work on your car? I got exactly the tool you need!' and it's a massive tool chest. The guy pulls out the drawer and it's all $100 bills. I was :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Any reason why your extending the fuse box wiring?

I am in the process of mounting my fuse box in the same spot in my EP. I've deleted my heater/ blower unit so I have a ton of space behind the dash. I was planning on just pulling the fuse box harness back through the firewall. Maybe have to extend a few wires but it doesn't look too bad. Am I missing something or are you doing it another way?

The hole in the firewall where the heasdlight/fusebox harness travels through, is at the bottom of the firewall under the brake booster. Factory location for the fuse box is in the engine bay next to the driver side shock tower.

I am extending the wires to go through that same hole, along the inside of the dash, and to the passenger air bag area where the box is mounted.

There is maybe 12 inches of wire that would let me swing the box to another location like under the driver headlight (the location that I had it mounted previously).

To mount the box where I want in the passenger air bag area I have to extend 11 wires 103", and 21 wires 73". I will need approximately 183 feet of 18 gauge wire, and 39 feet of 12 gauge wire.

I don't see how you would be able to mount you box I the same location that I am going through extending the wires. If you can successfully do this please post up some pictures, I would love to see your process. The EP is very similar wiring and component location wise to RSX

Well for starters- just from what I can see- my fuse box wiring harness does not go into the cabin under the brake booster- but on the passenger side under the engine harness. So I have a good amount of wire length to play with. I will have to see exactly how much- but I can't imagine that i will have to extend anything.

That would make it much easier being on the passenger side by the engine harness. For the RSX I will have to extend everything unfortunately

Nice shots and interior! You custom make that CF panel? Which EBC pads are those? Never heard of AP Racing, looks legit though. That's for sure. Beautiful powdercoat! Love the dump and 'down'pipe setup. Beautiful man

Car will be done for the Eibach event in Los Angeles on May 15th, lots of new stuff.

So this weekend was a big step for the car! Got it running, and she saw her first two shows of the season!

A big thanks to Anthony (EncoreDC5) for all of his help getting the car up and running!!
He helped with the fuse box relocation, fuel system, vacuum line system, tucked radiator install, and a bunch of misc others.

Car was at the Extreme Dimensions Show in Fullerton, CA This past Saturday, and also at the Eibach Meet in Lake Elsinore, CA!

Car is getting fully finished within the next couple of weeks, dropped her back off at Sheepey built in LA on Monday!!
Also, car is getting tuned by by Church Automotive before WekFest LA in 2 weeks!
