car looks amazing!!
After a 1 month holiday away in Vietnam, it's wrenching time!
Started by removing the dash to finish off the brake tuck, install the milspec harness and a tidy up in general.

I bought some more hardware for the car along with the downstar firewall plug kit. I must say, they look really good.

Mounted on the griffin rad, the top rad hose unfortunately kinks, cutting it was the only option.

Nice updates and pictures! Everyone gets great pictures on this forum. I love it, technology is such a great thing.
How did the beater installs go?
Hey guys, Just strarted the car with a base map off the kmanager and car idles quite rough.
Can anyone chime in with a modified map on the safest setting possible?

even after setting in the dead times etc, it still idles pretty rough.
Thanks boostedk20 community =]
No problem, we don't usually give freebies, but seeing we havn't done anything for BoostedK for awhile, this one is on the house. Its just a basemap of course, so will require more work for sure. Had tuned one of these on the rollers last year, near identical build so should be close, reset some parameters for safety. Recommend 4 bar sensor, be sure to calibrate TPS. As always, all maps are for offroad use only, there are no mechanical gauruntees, please review parameters before uploading, please check our site for the legal disclaimer, etc.
Etunez custom tune for: Boosted K20
Type: Offroad use only.
Car: K20 PRB
Modifications:
SD Based intake
5858 Turbo
ID 1000cc injectors, standard latency.
Assumed 48psi +/- 5psi fuel pressure assumed.
Free flowing Exhaust
Fuel: 93 Octane 10%E assumed.
Elevation: 500ft ASL assumed.
Rev1: Custom fueling, ignition and VTC for a PRB K20 turbo build, Assumed stock MAP sensor, recommend 4 bar.
Thank you so much boys,
I will upload the courtesy map supplied by e tunez with adjusted parameters. Will post up a few minute data log tomorrow.
Thanks again to the community BoostedK20.

For sure, hit us up at tuning@e-tunez.com and I will help you out, I don't get a chance to check these threads very often. Filedropper isn't displaying the security code properly for me to download that file, so if possible just zip or rar it up and send it over :)
Steve
PS Checkout www.7zip.org if you need a good compression tool.
E-Tunez, thank you very much for this courtesy! Great customer service speaks volumes about a company.
A big thank you to everyone in this thread for showing love and support for this awesome build and builder all the way in Australia!! mnc1408 Contact E-Tunez with your datalog via e-mail as requested and let us know how things work out! Looking forward to this!
Thanks to the many from this community on helping me out, I was able to make it to a honda event barely. no brakes and interior but the car started and drive beautifully thanks to E-Tunez.
Sorry for the lack of updates, been working hard at it for the last 2 weeks to prepare for an event. The car isn't finished as of yet but it fires up and idles nicely.
Attended Honda network by trailer because the car had no brakes, interior etc unfortunately. Hopefully the coming few weeks it will be running fully and tuned.

Nice!!! And fuck yea. E-Tunez FTW! Looking forward to more build pics man. Congrats so far
Keep us updated with them pics man! Videos too if you can. I enjoy those
Busy time of the year with the festive season and work. Will be wrapping up the car and hopefully getting it tuned by mid JAN. will update then guys! thanks for the support.
I seriously can't wait either! going to hit 380-400hp on the stock setup with arp head studs, e85 and call it a day. Next motor will be built but don't think im running much more power as i'm building it for longevity.
btw, How much power can I max out on my returnless setup safely until i add a return line in there?
walbro 465 in tank
-8 in
-6 on the return side of the fpr.
id1000
That's a big fuel pump for a return less setup. Lol. But nice. And I think people have made around 500hp on a return less. But I've always ran a return line

It is a little big but it's a free option for me as my cousin changed he's mind and ran external instead. My current 255 will be upgraded to another ethanol ready in tank setup. Also looking at the aem and grams unit.
I plan to do a return fuel system when I upgrade my k pro v3 to either a v4 or haltech so that I could run a flex fuel sensor in the return line.
What spark plugs Should I be using on a stock block k20a turbo? ngk 9?
Car hit the dyno today(low reading dyno), It made 330hp (12lbs) before the turbo got very noisy and had heaps of play. He tried 2 more pulls and the turbo kept losing power down to 300hp same boost pressure.
My tuner did another pull without the air filter and he saw the compressor jump, possibly a broken shaft?
It's a 5858 dbb .82, I made sure the turbo was primed before first start up etc.
My question is, will precision do anything about this? I know I purchased it 2.5 yrs ago But at the end of the day it is a brand new turbo with 3 hours dyno time and about 1.5 hours idling time at most to bleed coolant and fault errors.
Damn that sucks. Should have some type of warranty but possibly voided after sitting that long. Should contact them directly
BUMP! How are things now?
Old turbo oil feed line got blocked resulting in an early retirement on the dyno. I bought a Garrett gtx3576r core and got the old turbo housings machined to fit.
Car is limited atm due to a possible bov leak. It made 238.5 kw atw (12psi) on msc's dyno which is a very low reading dyno for fwd cars. Just as a reference, my old n/a k24 made 140 on this dyno and 157 on another roller.
Steve tried to up the boost to about 15psi but the boost drops at around 7000rpm with the leak. We saw some mid range gains of about 20kw. Next step would be to get a stiffer spring for the tial q bov and an overal checkup.
Power band is surprisingly very linear.

Don't mind the Lsd clunking away.

Just ordered 1psi stiffer bov spring, car is limited with power until I fix the issue and change the fuel setup to a return style.
I have a big Circuit track day coming up in July, Power output needs to be restricted as it is a track mainly with tight turns.
A few pictures from weeks back and currently. Not much progress in terms of modding, only putting things back together.
Before the tune I swapped wheel with my friend steven, only for the pure fact he has proper tyres and not my 2008 made ad07.

Here's the old broken precision 5858 core, poor fella has enough shaft play to cause an earthquake. I will get it rebuilt, find spare housings for it and keep it as a spare,

Because of the recent event of a possible bov leak, I decided to add some washers in there, 2 to be exact. It will stiffen it up a little which is what I hope it to do. I took it for a drive (video below) to test it out, it opens barely on low revs and boost but at the higher end of the rev range it seems to open up sufficiently.

A little mock up of the most anticipated wheels I want to run. I'm a big fan of the gab sports, I will refurbish this set (same colour) with matching centre caps and keep everyone posted on the refurbishment stages. 16x8 +32

On monday I put a little time into the interior, juno came around and gave me a hand with putting the dash etc back in. Interior looks like a barn find haha.

My Enkei rc-s didn't clear my endless calipers which is a bummer... they cleared the spoon twnblock by 3-4mm. I took off the tyres on them and got them fitted to my te37 16x8 +15/30. Tbh, bronze isn't doing it for me, I am thinking about swapping them to my friend steven for his white set so that I could coat them satin black.

For the BOV leak. They sell a stiffer set of springs for it
