Why would a new clutch slip and not fully disengage?

Was the disc handled with bare hands? Meaning no gloves, Or grease covered gloves. Was the flywheel wiped clean of all the oils on the mating surfaces?
Either that or it could use adjusting.
Maybe you need to bleed the master and slave cylinders. There's an entire thread on it on 8th
Could be a defective pressure plate. Not applying enough pressure.
I made some adjustments to my Cmc and it is holding better but 13psi it slips again.
Im going to do the 500 mile break in and see how that does. I should have that done by the weekend.
***side note***
This clutch feels like the stock clutch. I expected more pressure on the clutch pedal but it is about what the stock one feels like. Also it engages very smoothly!!
My competition stage 4 clutch gave my leg a workout in traffic and even though it was sprung it grabbed hard from day one.
Just sayin

I would have done the break in to begin with just to get everything straight. It could be some disk material needs to wear away to bite better against the flywheel. Or does your rear main Seal leak at all?
Rear main seal is not leaking. I was doing the break in but in 6th gear under very light acceleration the clutch slipped and that raised some concern for me.
This is my 3rd new clutch and I have never had one slip so easily

Oh Gotcha. I haven't heard too great of things about spec clutches. I have a comp clutch twin disc and in all reality it isn't that bad once it's adjusted properly. I'd say it feels like a comp stage 4 pressure wise. But engagement is pretty instant. But it's street-able.
So here is an update. I adjusted my Cmc. After that I got a lot more pedal range and the feels better.
My clutch seems to be grabbing more but still feels weak compared to competition clutches I have owned in the past.
I am now at 300 miles of my 500 mile break in. The real change I have noticed is right before full engagement the clutch is beginning to chatter.
I think this is a good thing ?
