Adam, very interested in your build. I will be doing a rotrex kit in my car in a couple of weeks, big rotrex, intercooler radiator etc. would love to hear your experience with the car and mod compared to turbo, etc. my engine will be stock except a set of drag cartel cams.
I'm totally new to this world of boost. I get the feeling that there is no going back from this point.
If anyone wants a good laugh read the last few pages of the turbo chat thread on 8th. A troll got shit on.
What's up man. Welcome to the forum and welcome to rotrex. I love the rotrex man. It's really fun for both a daily and a track car. I've been supercharged since 2010 and made 330whp untuned. Made 400 tuned on 18lbs with a more safe side tune. (Dynojet). Made 420 on a k24 with cams @ 0* cam advance. So there's much more in it. These blowers like higher compression and all motor cams from research done by many shops. I ran 11:1 comp and kelford C's. Now since I'm doing other work I'm going down to 9:1 comp on the same kelford C's. as compared to turbo it's better until a point. Once you get into the 6266mm territory your just out numbered and out powered. But rotrex makes power like an all motor car. But it makes peak power at peak rpm. Basically the higher you rev the more boost you make. But you should gear the supercharger to max rpm + 5% and that's the limit you can push it. Any higher and your bound for failure. I hope this helps and feel free to ask any other questions. Glad to see the rotrex is catching on.
Thanks man. Good to know and I'm appreciative of your enthusiasm for the sport. I'll post up numbers once its done. Hopefully I could get close to 400 if not ill mod till I get there. :-$
Ok, I will. All I have at the moment are a few pics. Attachment 117
I dropped the clutch as I was rolling in to the shop literally. Strange feeling to go for the clutch and clutch goes to the floor.
I'm waiting on the radiator to get started. I will post every spot along the way.
I should be doing all the work myself so I can really learn but those days of having free time are gone. It's work then home with a two year old who is quite active. It's still exciting to know the things that are getting done though.
