I think he means something in front of the bungs to keep oil from spraying directly into the lines to the catch can???

I mean IDK if this is true or not but from what i've heard is when putting them on the front of the VC you put them close as you can to the top because there is baffling in there that hangs down and that will cut down on the amount of oil that can go into them....... vs just putting them lower where oil can go directly into them but IDK lol

Yea without a baffle, you will lose a lot of oil out of the VC vents which is not their purpose. They are to vent fumes, not oil.

Yes... But not oil itself. If you look in a valve cover, at least for the k series, there is a baffle right where the stock side vent is exactly for this purpose.
