The heater thing I've always done when car gets a little hot under the collar.
Lets get a how-to thread going with the proper way to get this done properly and what to do if issues arise. Sax, care to do the honors? Doesnt have to be 100% it can be the methods youre doing now
Ok man, will do IF I get the problem resolved. What a pita this has been. I used to own a vette and had the same issues.
That's how I did it yesterday. I drained all my coolant so I could change my lower radiator hose to clear my battery relocate better. It took a while, and you have to be patient filling the neck with coolant as the system even when off and empty likes to 'burp' up coolant as you're filling it. What I did was fill as much as it seemed to want to take, which was maybe 3 qts. Then I started the car, and added coolant as it would take it, of course the car overheated as there wasn't enough coolant in the system yet. I shut the car off, let it cool off for a couple hours, did some other things, then I went back and filled it with more coolant before starting it, again as much as it seemed to want to take. Then I started the car again, added a little coolant as it needed it, which wasn't much. After letting it warm up, the fans cycled on and off twice and my coolant gauge never rose above normal. This was all done in my closed, hot garage. Front was jacked up higher than the rear like Adm is suggesting. Drove the car around the neighborhood and the temp gauge was still normal. Will be driving to work today and see how it goes, but I think it's all set. I do need to check my datalog to see what my exact temperature was last night.
Well, with the exception of jacking up car, stuck a funnel in opening, filled up. Let car run for about fifteen minutes and fans came on and went off. Stopped seeing bubbles and figured it good. Capped it drove it and it looked good but of course it blew the heater core hose off because it wasn't clamped. I'm gonna jack it up and try it again. :-)
The other problem I have is that when I'm cruising car is warmed up and in first and second it hesitates or cuts out with throttle when it gets to certain rpm. Then power comes on hard then same thing so it's bucking a few times before grabbing and accelerating normally. After 10-15 miles of highway cruising it works fine. Any ideas?

I wish mine were ten inches. At least stock width. :-$
So the one with the tape measure is not your wheel?

Those are nine inch wheels. Yeah, that didn't come out right at all.
