Hell yea dude. Rather good news was there was still blue coolant in the motor when I pulled the thermostat. Means to me that it was low mileage like advertised and it was maintained.

So today I picked up a couple fittings from a friend to plug and plumb the head of the k24a2 since I'm using a modified RBC intake manifold. So I went out and bought a set of taps.
I needed 3/8" NPT and 1/2" NPT taps.

So I got home and got to work.
I broke out a 16mm 12pt socket as my tap wrench since I couldn't find a proper tool.
I wanted to ensure No metals got into the head at all so for the EGR port I bundled a paper towel and put that in the hole to catch the shavings

Pulled the paper towel out using needle nose pliers. And the outcome was

A decent looking thread.
Moved onto the coolant port of the head and finished.

Added the hoses and thermostat housing

Along the way I put my belt tensioner, alternator, and ac compressor.
Still a few more things to be done then I can install.
I will not be installing the blower right away. So it will be weak and powerless but at least it will be driveable.
Nice start I remember tapping my z3 head too.
I was going to tap mine if I stayed supercharged. Nice work

Thanks guys. Never did it before and was trying my best not to wreck the head. But turned out much easier then I thought.
