More next weekend. Rear frame gusset, wheels, mount motor, work on front frame, wire tuck, and a bunch more. Stay tuned!
Another gorgeous day to work on the Ruckus. Rear wheel came in yesterday. Dat deep dish doe!

Lookin good man. Can't wait to see it

Thanks bro, can't wait to be finished. Estimated completion is 3 weeks from today, then tuning and riding!
Got a lot done today, I'll post pics later tonight :thumb:
Couldn't wait. Got some cool stuff done today. The big secret will be finished in two weeks. Today was fun and motivating, however very time consuming though.
RND Racing made a one-off gusset from scratch for the other side of the rear frame. We assessed, mocked, tacked, and welded the mojo mount. They came out great!

Quick practice weld:

Spent a decent amount of time figuring out exactly where to weld on the MOJO mount based on my desired stretch and height/stance. Onto the permanent stuff:

Mocked up an auto-choke delete plate template:

I designed seat frame tabs from scratch to compliment the MOJO mount:

And some other minimal stuff finished. Big things for next week!
Still waiting on my order from poon, it's unfortunately holding me back right now.
Got more parts today :thumb:

Legit actual titanium bolts from poon. And I had them come in that color to match my NCY upgraded front axle.

This is gonna look dope, I can't wait to mock them up on Sunday with RND RACING!
Are you doing the welding and fabricating yourself?
god so sick
That's sick looking man. You're about to have more money in that ruckus then your Si. Lol
s4 petefromthestreets
Damn, I'm not ever going to complain about my money pits again. It's a disease that grows uncontrollably.
Looking really over the edge.
I'm doing the design and some of the fab, RND RACING is doing the rest of the fab and welding so we can get this build done in time.
Thanks! So does this mean it may be :spazapproved:?
Thanks homie! Yea, you're not kidding. Lmao
Thanks man, and its all good. We all complain from time to time. It happens. But you have many more money pits than I do! Cheers to modding and being men! (No offense civicgrl89)
I think the paint should be black with red accents on the ruckuss. What does everyone else out there think?
I say murder it

Decisions, decisions.
Harness came last night! This is literally the best harness one can buy. Utilizes the OEM electric fuel pump, instead of a vacuum pump for the GY6 swap. All other harnesses use a vacuum fuel pump which sends too much fuel to the carb, causing overfueling issues. You can add a fuel return, but why not just utilize the electric fuel pump that works without flaws? Waterproof connections, everything is heatwrapped, all connections will be soldered. :thumb:

By the time you've finished a new zx14 could replace it?
That's where my mind goes after I think on money spent. My kz got my money that could have bought a new ZX14 with a nice brocks pipe and other accessories. That messes with my head at times. Lol
Ii used to have a dope 2000 R1. I sold it and bought the Ruckus.

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/08/azuba6uj.jpg
A ZX14R is too heavy for me. 365lbs my R1 weighed. Next, I would probably get a busa. They're really comfortable. I'd want a small 4-5" stretch, lowered, turbo kit, done. Ruckus is just so much more fun to mod man. I can't wait to work on it every Sunday, planning the day out a week ahead, gathering my own preference in parts, and a sick final design in mind. This will decimate all - after about $3k in overnight parts from Taiwan. ;)
Should have a roller by the end of the day tomorrow, this is getting more exciting as it's coming together. I'm very eager!
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Nothing quite like michelin pilots. So youd go for a busa over a zx14? They weigh about the same.
Well, a busa is a completely different bike, but mainly I'd get that over a zx14 because I've always played with the thought of having a turbo busa. Nothing against a zx14, its a beautiful bike. Just always wanted to rock a busa :thumb: But cheers for 2 wheels!
Hah, glad someone caught that. Same here, it's gonna be sick!
Yeah, I guess I like the old school looking busas a lot but the new ones look a lot like motor scooters on steroids. Lol, I guess it goes with the theme.
Yeah, pit bike. I'm thinking this summer I'm going to have to make the strip and track a part of my weekly activities. Can't wait to see video of your scoot scooting.
Didn't get to a roller today. Hopefully next week it'll be roller ready. Got a decent amount of stuff done today though. Mounted the front tire on the front wheel, swapped long axle for short axle and setup everything inside the tranny (which took a couple hours altogether), did a ton of measurements to line everything up 100%, got the front end ready, and now it's pretty much ready for the final welding of the rear frame to the mount and then the suspension setup.
The worst part is that the motor sits so far left because of the 12x8 fatty that an extension has to be welded onto the Mojo mount on the left side. All typical issues that come along with custom work. But it's all going to be well worth it in the end!
Very true, that IS what they look like now hahaha. Definitely do that, videos of Weekly Activities FTW! I can't wait til this is done, soo eager!
Teaser of how the day left off:
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/06/17/a2ebazy8.jpg
Lookin good. And Johnny said he likes skinny girls but never turns down a fatty. Lol
Speaking of fatties, I came up on a scooter today that had a fatty as a passenger. I was almost going to run them over. Exhaust was loud. Made me wonder if it was because it had an open exhaust or was just labored. Lol. I realized that he didn't share my philosophy about scooters.
I always say scooters are like fat chicks... Never mind, he wouldn't have found that one funny.
Got a good amount of stuff done today. Not a full roller yet, but very close. Custom fabrication takes a lot longer than it seems, but it's well worth it in the end. I'd say another 4 weeks and she'll be complete. Here's what went on today:

What do you do when you're mounting your front wheel for mock up and you realize you never ordered spacers? First, facepalm. Then improvise, and remember to order spacers later.

All mounted up. $15 tip for their help after 5 tries and my guidance throughout. Did a good amount of mock up. Was finishing up the suspension and I noticed the seat frame was angled way back. Needed to address that situation, so everything else got pushed back. Next week more will be done. Full roller without a doubt. Need to complete a few extra things on my end, like getting spacers for the front wheel and getting jets for my carb. Need to figure out what jets it uses first. Either way, here's they way we left today:

Super excited. Can't wait for more! The countdown to next Sunday begins. RND RACING
I would love to buy one already done like this. Great job. What was worst. Boosting your car or building this lol?
Thanks Joey! Honestly, the fun is making this thing exactly how I want. So boosting the Si was definitely worse. But that's mainly because it's my daily driver and I can't have the downtime. Oh the lessons learned :rotfl:
The next step for me vehicle-wise is an exotic. Not sure which yet, but I have a few in mind. NSX being one of them ;)
Hows your family btw? I hope all is well
Adm_rsx this is my method of informing you that I updated ;)

Damn thats looking sick man! I'd love one but another money pit would be the death of me

Well, the Ruck is finished (for now) until the winter rebuild. Here's some pica I took today. The GY6 motor swap was a GREAT idea - the power, sound, the overall feel of the bike, everything. I'm very happy to have built this bike with my father - with custom pieces that we've made together that are on no other ruckus peroid. Custom suspension, spring rates, seat frame tabs - various things from small to large and in between. There has been a lot of hiccups throughout the build process, unfortunately. For example, i ordered a special 3-stage paint from the UK three months ago. It's an awesome color that was to be revealed at the event as a surprise to everyone. But, three body shops screwing me over during the week before the reveal. Two shops dropped out five days before the event, and the third said they would be finished without a doubt in two days. They had the parts for three days and didn't prep or paint them - and didn't tell me anything. Didn't answer phone calls for two days. Long story short, we hustled hard the day before the event, rattle canned the oarts they didn't touch, and barely made it. In the end, I'm very happy, and I certainly thank my father very much for his help and dedication. And staying up for two days straight with me to finish the bike in time for it's reveal at Boosted Life last weekend. So, I guess this would qualify for the "Built, not bought" phrase in nearly every way. So, here are some pics!

Great Build, extremely jealous.
Very nice. So, I am very new to the whole ruckus scene. How fast does your scoot go now with the swap? I understand about the mod bug. Getting a busa and modding like you did here would break the bank.
Closeups of the color would be cool.
I'm in same boat with my bike. I think they forgot about me. This weekend I'm going to pick up my pieces if they haven't started yet. All summer since before I started my rotrex project. No calls, I emailed even. No response. Yeah, total bs. Worse than waiting on all in fab to finish pieces.
As this is an educational moment would you share the comparison, contrast stock vs modded engine. The difference in feel between stretched. The mods that are eye candy vs mods that are necessary and functional.
Once again, I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to make that meet and that I missed getting to meet all of you guys at the meet and not be able to see that badass ruckus. GREAT JOB MAN.
She looks soo good dude!
