Tranny life and death thread

I'll be doing that this week for sure

I made a thread about all of my tranny parts... I'm on my 5th transmission..

319whp 243lb torque. K24 supercharged DC5. I have shattered 2nd gear every single time.

omfg 5th?!?!?!?! im surprised u still have the car lol. everyone quits after the 2nd one goes out lol

First engine (k20z1) I did the ol' Money Shift... 3rd to 2nd and blew it up.

Second engine (2005 k24a2) was good until I went to a new tuner for my aftercooler setup and he blew up my engine....

Third engine, (2007 k24a2) I bought after tuner blew last one up and drove for a month and noticed smoke.. compression tested it, it turned out to be bad from the place I bought it. Luckily it came with warranty so they gave me another one.

Now my forth engine is aother 2007 K24A2 replacement for a low compression engine from the salvage yard I bought.

Spaz, that's insane! I'm on my first tranny and first motor :rotfl:

Dam this thread makes me feel lucky stock ep3 trans with a quaife diff first turbo 30r in april 463 hp 314 trq , may went to a 35r 522 / 322 on pump gas and 585 / 414 on q 16 race fuel .I feel really lucky the trans held up all summer w/o issue I will say forth gears been noisy for a while but the trans is gonna come apart this winter to have a look .Best advice I can give you is dont launch it on the street and run slicks at the track mines held up to multiple passes at the track this year at least 20 -30 passes and many many many pulls to top end :turbohug:

Quick question for the Si guys. Are you running your stock LSDs? How have they held up from the abuse you put them through? I found a K20a2 with an Si LSD in it. Buddy is asking $750 though. Is that steep?
