Studying at 3am is so overrated.

just seen this CXracing Turbo kit for the k20.. thinking of getting one as i sold my supercharger.. what you guys think?
thanks buddy.. i know its a cheap kit.. was thinking if i get all pipework ceramic coated and only want to runs low boost as i have a jdm k20a engine high compression.. should be ok.. if the turbo gives up i can replace that no problem. i heard its best to restrict the oil lines.. so turbo last a bit longer... you experts should know.
thanks any help appreciated
Gotta be careful with that though, when a turbo blows you don't know what particulates go where, and you may risk the motor in some cases. BW Turbos are cheap, reliable, and have a 1-year warranty from BW so that's not a bad option if you're on a budget.
Some JBs still may need a restrictor, just depends on the turbo. My old PTE 6766 JB needed a .06 Restrictor :-(
Wth these high revving K-series motor, high pressure oil is what tends to blow those JB turbos apart. So, many times they need a restrictor even on JBs. IIRC, my GT3076R needed a .035 restrictor, which makes sense because it's BB

which wastegate do people recommend.. heard turbosmart is good.. also
14 psi of boost should be safe on a stock jdm k20a ?
thanks
Tial is your typical choice. Percision, turbosmart ect all work well. Synapse as well. And I would never call it safe but I'd worry about the amount of power you make at a given boost pressure and don't go too high. I ran 18psi on my stock z1. It ran well. And lasted a while.

yeap jacksons gone...
i bought the Cheap CXRacing Kit, before anything gonna change the Wastegate, turbo internals, and ceramic coat manifold and downpipe..
may even run the turbo as it is.. till it dies.. then just replace it with a Proper one..
gonna run it around 11psi and see how how it holds up..

CX-Racing Intercooler has worked just fine so far :-)

how do watercooled turbos hold up on the k20.. will it increase coolant temp silly amounts? any experience from anyone :nervous:
Watercooled turbo are too pricey for me. Lol

No probs with a water cooled turbo but if its a swapped car invest in a good full size rad and dual fans my original half rad wouldn't keep my temps down in the summer time heat .
let's see how the CX Racing Holds Up at around 10psi on my Jdm Type R Motor

didn't do too bad.. with a precision waste gate with 8psi spring with boost creep to 9psi

you have the wrong vids quoted above buddy, dont know how!! lol
yeah full CXracing Kit
:ohsnap: Welcome! Keep us in the loop!!
Sounds great! Didn't know CXRacing made a DC5 turbo kit! I hope it can prove itself compared to the other kits out there. Do you have pictures of the parts?
All finished.. just few bits need tidying up.. battery needs relocating to the back, no power boost spikes.. smooth power like SC to redline.. helps my traction... lets see how much that turbo can take before it shits its self. lol
had to reduce spark plug gap as high compression think spark was blowing out.. now is fine.. didnt do it on dyno.. just under load..
