There are very few things i wont do myself- paint and body work are 1 of them. A friend did this for me. No fog lights for me- those holes will be used for brake cooling ducts and a cold air feed for my CAI. With this new front end- i should only have the very ends of my aftercooler covered so the cooling effect should be greatly increased. Pics on car to follow

I agree, I'm the same way for the exterior of the car. Interior pieces, engine bay, and other misc stuff I don't mind doing myself.
You plan on creating brake ducts? This definitely needs to be a DIY! How do you plan on doing that?

Its still a work in progress- after modifying the front rebar to fit the JDM front end- i found that my aftercooler needs to be moved back and my CAI needs to be cut back as well. After i finally get the bumper to fit then ill look into duct work

Looking Good there. Sweet looking car.

Consider getting a larger air filter. That unit will limit flow easily when it gets just a little dirty. I know... there is little space... but see what you can do.

Thanks! Have a bunch of your parts on the car- awesome stuff. Really want to give your TVS kit a try in the future if i can fit it. Unfortunately- i have not found a larger air filter that fits behind the jdm bumper- im planning on just throwing a velocity stack on it and calling it a day

The m62 is unmodified up until now- Im having the blower ported/ snout cooled/ rotors lightened/ new snout bearings/ rotors recoated as we speak. Plan on keeping the 3in pulley and just throwing the biggest crank pulley i can find on it- shooting for 11-12 psi. Hopefully along with the new fuel return for e85 and the addition of some 07 tsx cams ill crack 370whp in the end.

Well, wannavtec seema to be the right guy to talk to. He's making some serious power. And don't forget they carry MarcRacing 2.9" and 2.8" pullies in the eShop!

Yeah lots of work to that charger. I cut out the step/shelf and smoothed out the runners. Had a 3.2" with Accord CP and after cooler we hit 30th on pump. I always wanted to do e85 though.

Just make sure if you get the rotors stripped to have them recoated, I picked up a ton of power and 2 psi by putting coated rotors back in my blower. I was going to do the lightened rotors but didn't see a real benefit for the cost.

Yea i cant wait to see the end result of the blower being modified. I already played with the manifold a little bit- smoothed out some of the burrs and casting flaws. Im actually using your DIY for my fuel return so i can run e85- so thanks for that lol

Ahhh you might be the guy derek was talking about with the stripped rotors.... Ok cool yea i plan on having them recoated- thats a good heads up. The meth has eaten away at the stock coating pretty good

Been a while...Couple updates:

Starting the winter project: hoping to push the JRSC to new limits. By spring- id expect it to be one of most powerful m62 powered EP's in the country ;)

Retune apt scheduled for next week: 06 TSX cams installed- no other change to setup. I want to see how much better, if any, the bigger intake cam works in my setup. Then its back under the knife for a couple months. Expect to see a fully ported, cooled, lightened, coated blower with a new pulley setup- aiming for 13-15 psi this time around. A new fuel return setup is also in the works to compensate for the higher boost pressure, as well as testing out e85. I am also considering a custom 3.5in CAI with a dual nozzle setup for the meth injection. Meth, e85, after cooler, snout cooler... Should get interesting ;)

Also sourced a new JDM front end for my Airwalker Japan front lip to change up the look a bit. New pics and vids (hopefully) to follow retune and tear down. Stay tuned.

Idk about 18psi- thats a bit high for a m62. I think 14-15psi is more reasonable with the new pulley combo i am going to use.

Finished modifying my fuel cage last night for the fuel return- planning on starting the fuel lines today or tomorrow. Pics to follow.

Its like 3/8 npt inlets for the aeromotive filter. I am using a 100 micron one that is good for e85 because its a metal filter

Yea i drive the car too much and e85 is not that available around my place. Btw- that vacuum cap idea for plugging the stock fuel return that we talked about might need reconsideration. I pulled my fuel cage out yesterday and it was all brittle and eaten up. I made a different plug for it

No pics- its an easy concept though. I had an extra 3/8 submersible fuel hose laying around so i grabbed a stainless bolt that fit super tight and shoved it in one end of the hose with a hose clamp then fit the other end over the stock return outlet with another hose clamp. No leaks and should never deteriorate due to gas, e85, etc.

It bounces between 2k and 1k rpm. When i try to slowly bring the rpm up the motor blips then stumbles then goes back to bouncing. The issue started when i had to replace the battery about 2 months ago- i thought it was an idle relearn but i cant keep the rpm above 3k consistently.

Sounds like the tps like you thought. I had a wire lose connection on mine once. Had to run a new wire and it was fixed. So I'd also check power at both ends to make sure they are conductive.

I have a TPS reading in kpro when the key is on. Once the car is running i have very little throttle control though. i think all these years with solid mounts has finally killed my stock TPS sensor. Since it was doing this before i tore the car apart- and i cleaned the IACV while i had the throttle body off- i am kinda ruling out vacuum leaks and the idle controls.

Carnage from today- was trying to top off my aftercooler after fixing a leak on the snout and i couldnt get the reservoir lid off. It usually turns by hand but for whatever reason it wouldnt budge. The pics show after 2 hrs of vice work with channel locks, vice grips, and various pipe wrenches- needless to say the top still isnt off and the reservoir is destroyed. Big thanks to Jose for setting me up with a new replacement. Pics:

Thanks- well it seems like 1 step forward 2 steps back with this thing. Reinstalled the reservoir, calibrated the TPS- fired her back up. Now its more like a high idle with the occasional idle bounce. So i pulled the throttle body off- cleaned the IACV- cleaned the butterfly- put it all back together for no change. Tried it with the idle valve disabled- no change. Then i noticed the temp was rising over 200 with the fan on... And my lower hose was cool. Sooo it seems my mishimoto low temp thermostat isnt opening. It was early so i ordered a new OEM one from honda. Looks like i will be pulling the rad tomorrow and doing a boost leak test while its all apart awaiting the new thermostat. Coming down to the wire for my retune on sat- any other ideas are welcome

Regarding your fuel issue- id pull the in-tank fuel cage and inspect. You shouldn't be getting sputtering at less than half a tank unless a filter is clogged or you have an obstruction in the line. I only went with a return so i could run e85

No worries man- you should try to hook up a fuel pressure gauge at the rail when your tank is that low- just to see what your fuel pressure is like. You also might have a leaking return hose in the tank, which goes from your fuel pump outlet to your intank pressure regulator then back to the suction side of your fuel pump. Id try the fuel pressure gauge first though- then work from there

Well that was short lived. My newly ported/ modified charger seized up on me today while driving on highway. Initially i thought the motor locked up- turns out the belt is under so much tension to prevent belt slip that when the blower seized- it didnt allow the motor to turn over?! Well now to tear it all back apart and see what the damage is... Fantastic first time on a tow truck.

Yea we will see- i think the blower is unfixable judging by how torn up the rotor pack and casing is. The motor has no compression in 3 cylinders so i think it might need a rebuild... We will see

Wow, that was fast! Nice work! Were the piston rings just damaged? And the vales?

Pistons/ cylinder walls look fine- minus the aluminum shavings on the piston crowns. The head looks like it will need some work- there are shavings stuck in the valves, which would explain my lack of compression in 3 cylinders. Im going to look into a fresh rebuild- something that will support some more boost ;)

Some people really do not like block guards which is what that is, some have success with them. Based on my research I chose not to get one and just stay stock in that area, I didn't have to over bore so my cylinders are still 86mm. As for the EFRs, does your chassis allow you to fit the twin scroll kit? If not, I definitely suggest getting the EFR in an externally gated setup, they perform much better that way.

I think the twin scroll, internally gated kit would fit in the ep3. My tuner, drob, advised me to skip the k24 rebuild and source a k20 due to its stronger oem cylinder construction if i was to go turbo. So now im kinda back to the drawing board.

I can ask but I'll take a gander at what he is referring to. K24 bore is 87mm compared to a k20 which is 86mm. There is your +1mm cylinder thickness right there. Its just a bit more material that strengthens the k20 cylinders compared to the k24.

It doesn't really matter anymore though- i think my boost days are over. I was quoted almost 6k for a custom TTS rotrex kit... So cross that off. I dont think my JRSC is even remotely fixable and i honestly have little faith now in stiegemeier to rebuild my blower even if they could. I also looked into the turbo option and i dont think the power band would suit my driving style or tastes... Along with the investment since i either need to buy another motor or rebuild mine on top of any of these boost options.

... So things are kind of pointing to the honda purist option. A fresh, stoutly built, street friendly NA k24 aimed at powerband and response for spirited mountain runs and light autocross and road racing. Sorry fellas- but a big power boosted street car just doesn't really fit the bill for me anymore.

Thanks man. On a brighter side- i got a call today from Stiegemeier regarding my blower. They are condemning it but are looking for a new core. So it seems like they intend to replace it and make things right- which is good to hear. Now i just need to see if replacing my motor is more cost effective than rebuilding it.

Update.
Winter is here- have a couple things going on. Next on the list:
TSX crank pulley
Aem ver2 progressive meth controller
AIS 18gph meth nozzle
Kpro ver4 upgrade
Merc racing updated aftercooler reservoir
Custom 3.5in CAI

So far- the meth controller has been kicking my ass. Whether it was the first controller being bad to now the wiring connector being bad- I have been chasing these electrical gremlins for days now. Put the controller to the side and got my custom intake sorted and the crank pulley installed. Enough bitching- pics

Very cool! I suggest holding the meth off till last, finish the rest first. I'm not a big fan of meth because of the issues it can cause related to malfunction, which puts the life of your motor in jeopardy. Save it till the end and you can focus your attention and patience on it, because it seems like it'll take every last bit you have. (I have wiring btw, the headaches it causes just makes me cringe). For any wiring issues you may have, hit up ryaano18 he certainly can give you advice, he's the wiring guru. PetefromtheStreets monjarassi Spaz should be able to help with the subject as well

Best of luck, reach out to us for help, that's why we're here!

Thanks for the advice. I've been using meth for a few years now and it's worked wonders for me. There are a lot of misconceptions about it and it's safety. In my opinion- get the right kit, set it up right, and tune it properly and you shouldn't have any issues. I'm only stepping up to the aem progressive controller because my old simple boost activation switch finally rotted out after years of service. I just can't believe aem's quality control- I've always been a big supporter of their products but this new controller has plagued me with defects since I got it. I think I have it sorted now but I'm not holding my breath. I will say this though- kpro ver4 is worth every penny for the upgrade....

I had ver. 1 as well- I upgraded mainly for the Bluetooth capability but the new processor is soo much faster. There is an ethanol input that allows you to tune for e85 and pump gas without needing separate tunes. The Bluetooth is very cool though- I can watch what my car is doing in real time from my iPhone or iPad.

Beautiful!! Whats the red logo on the JR blower? I don't think I've never seen that before! Great setup. Goal/Expected tune results?

The stiegemeir logo? It's the company that does the supercharger port and rebuild work. Thanks for interest. The first go with the new jdm k20 setup made 327/227 on pump 93 and 348/237 on e85... All at 11psi. Now I've increased boost, probably looking at ~13psi, added a bigger cold air intake, 3in now 3.5in, added a larger meth nozzle, 14gph now 18gph, and I've switched out to a new fancy progressive meth controller.... All in id guess 15-30 more across the board. We will see though- as long as i feel as though I'm getting the most out of the setup without pushing its boundaries of reliability like the last setup, I'll be happy with whatever it makes.

New results from the dyno. Big thanks to Derek at IMW as always for doing a killer job. Cold ass day but we got through- pulled out 382whp/254wtq on e85 and 354whp/238wtq on 93, all @14psi. She is back in hibernation until spring.

Doing some maintenance on the car today. Been having lean cut issues after getting tuned- so decided to pull the fuel cage out for an inspection. E85 problems... In tank sock filter was filthy and so was the inline filter. Hopefully fixed the issues... Happy Friday!

No noise or vibrations. I even put on new tires and did a complete clean/ lube down of all my suspension components and I still missed it. After the tires went on I noticed the car pulled ever so slightly to the right so I went in for a toe adjustment. Once the front tires were lifted off the ground the passenger wheel practically cocked 2in... Not good.

All good now- took forever finding a place to get a good alignment but that's handled. Now I just need to track down where she is leaking in the hatch....
