Well I'm back in the game officially~! I wasn't planning on installing my kit I picked up months ago until this winter, but I was tired of people busting my balls for selling the supercharger and going back to NA. I'm not 100% finished with the build. I am working with a fabricator for custom new charge pipes, and this winter I'll be sending the manifold out for jet hot coating to remove the wrap. But for now the wrap will do the job.

It is a Full Race sidewinder setup with a Precision 6262 journal bearing turbo.

And now for the build!
The kit was used. So my wonderful GF helped out for the first time ever in my build. I'm still confused but I love her and thankful. Here she is straightening the intercooler fins

Got out the grinder

And mocked up the intercooler
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/Turbo%20Build/2013-05-10175635_zps3953dd1b.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/Turbo%20Build/2013-05-10175635_zps3953dd1b.jpg.html)

I took a scotch pad to the manifold and cleaned it the best I could. But I didn't want to leave it exposed so I wrapped it

She finished the fins and polished up the intercooler

Also cleaned up my BOV and Wastegate
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/Turbo%20Build/2013-05-27210243_zps1772d6ac.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/Turbo%20Build/2013-05-27210243_zps1772d6ac.jpg.html)

Got a weld on bung and welded up the oil pan. Later I cleaned it and painted it back to black.
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/Turbo%20Build/2013-05-29210730_zps1a01f591.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/Turbo%20Build/2013-05-29210730_zps1a01f591.jpg.html)

Wastegate hit the coolant setup so I had to come up with a new way to make my lines. So this is what I came up with
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/Turbo%20Build/20130805_210951_zpsf740bb64.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/Turbo%20Build/20130805_210951_zpsf740bb64.jpg.html)

Looks fucking great! I'm sure you're very happy to be back to boost. Have you driven it with the new setup yet? Was the piping not for the rsx? Have you heard of the benefits of a 4 port boost control solenoid?

The piping was for a stock k20 RSX with PRB manifold. With my K24 and RBC none of the piping fit correctly. So I had to cut, extend, reangle, etc and basically make a new setup. So I bought a 2' coupler and a universal piping kit.

As far as the solenoid no I don't know the benefits of a 4 port. Actually truthfully I didn't know there was a 4 port. I'm only familiar with the 3 port.

Gotcha, I didn't realize that you had a k24. The 3 port and 4 port, both do the same thing, which is add boost above your wastegate spring. A 3 port solenoid can usually do a bit more than 2x the actual spring pressure. So if you have a 7 psi spring, you can probably get 20 psi or so, maybe more, maybe less, out of the 3 port. A 4 port solenoid can go to like 10x spring pressure. This is beneficial because you can use the smaller wastegate spring - 3 psi, and still be able to make 30 psi (if you wanted to). This is nice so you can run 3 psi in 1st gear for traction and still get the boost you want out of the higher gears, say 15 psi or so in third and 4th on a stock motor. The 3 port would not be able to make 15 psi on a 3 psi spring. It's also not hard to install:

wow that is great information. If I build the engine this winter I will definitely look into a 4port

I say its good even for a stock motor! Being able to run 3 psi in first is critical imo to help prevent wheel spin, and on a stock motor you'll probably want to run close to 15 psi in 4th for max power. A 3 port will not be able to have that large a range of control. Also the 4 port is like $60  pretty cheap awesome mod. Just cut out the old solenoid, solder two wires, change the line routing slightly, done!

oh word of advice even tho you probably dont need it coming from me, keep an extra thottle cable with you when i used your short one after boost even tho it was double wrapped, i melted that one and two gsr ones all in different routing locations. so now im back to the oem one. just food for thought

shit lol. well if it helps i routed under my piping and then ran the cable along the driver side of the frame, went behind my rack and then in the car. there is a few loops but you cant see them lol. it was a pain non the less tho. good luck with it.

and if you happen to find out what car has something long enough to route away from the turbo but not long enough to reach to china lmk please because ive been looking.

Ya I forgot about that. All solenoids can use the quick spool feature, but it is most effective on the 4 port. It will really improve the spool time on that journal bearing turbo.

Couple of updates... So I had to make my own foglight covers. So I went to Menards picked up some plastic and stenciled out my outlines

Then used a solder gun to melt the two pieces together

installed their new hardware

Nice work on the foglight covers!

When my car had a CAI I tried to make the foglights more useful:

Too bad it's hard to fit anything inside any honda engine hood, specially when boosted.

So I got two of my three new gauges in. So I decided to install them quickly just to have. They actually work great and I like it but will be changing it once the final gauge comes and pod mount.

So removed my old one

Alright so yesterday was 48 degrees which is a heatwave. So I was able to open the garage door and work on the car... So I attempted to install my new TopOne rear diffuser... I'm extremely disappointing right now and will be calling them shortly to figure out what is going on.

But here is my install so far.. (sorry sun was setting, getting cold, so pictures get darker)

First removed the three screws on each side of the bumper
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_160306_zpscmqe8khd.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_160306_zpscmqe8khd.jpg.html)

Then removed the four 8mm nuts holding the taillights in
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_161233_zpsai2pt3so.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_161233_zpsai2pt3so.jpg.html)

I removed the taillights to make removing bumper easier
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_161242_zps8mce4vlq.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_161242_zps8mce4vlq.jpg.html)

Then pulled the bumper off and set it to the side
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_162159_zpsu0xoot5l.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_162159_zpsu0xoot5l.jpg.html)

Now this bad boy is in the way.. luckily the brackets are weak so you will need to bend it off to the side a little. Just push it in towards the center of the car
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_163830_zpsd7hpasey.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_163830_zpsd7hpasey.jpg.html)

Then hold up your race brackets to the pinch welds and mark your holes
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_163914_zpsaugzx3oy.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_163914_zpsaugzx3oy.jpg.html)

http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_164023_zpsjfwcu6eh.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_164023_zpsjfwcu6eh.jpg.html)

Now grab your drill and go to town
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_165755_zps2anwkyid.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_165755_zps2anwkyid.jpg.html)

Make sure to file the backside down smooth
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_170038_zps4hivtl4p.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_170038_zps4hivtl4p.jpg.html)

Then mount your brackets
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_170716_zps7r4qz7er.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_170716_zps7r4qz7er.jpg.html)

Do the same for the other side of course
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_170724_zpsbs2yo2bg.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_170724_zpsbs2yo2bg.jpg.html)

Now the shitty part... since it's a real diffuser if you have any pretty accessories like a beaks bar it must come off
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_170741_zpsfayb3rpg.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_170741_zpsfayb3rpg.jpg.html)

so you can install these brackets on the sway bar bolts
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_171123_zpsnxbt0wa4.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_171123_zpsnxbt0wa4.jpg.html)

So this step not necessary if not running a beaks bar
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_174005_zps1uxfmie7.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_174005_zps1uxfmie7.jpg.html)

But here you can see where I mounted the bracket. Now make it tight enough to stay but not to tight so you can't adjust it.
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_174830_zpsy5xuarcd.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_174830_zpsy5xuarcd.jpg.html)

Now I laid my diffuser under the car and started with the front. Use the two longer bolts and mount them here loosely
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_175840_zpsg1omojda.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_175840_zpsg1omojda.jpg.html)

http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_175852_zpsr6l2dnr5.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_175852_zpsr6l2dnr5.jpg.html)

Then lift the diffuser and bolt to the brackets you just installed

Now here is the shitty part... here is where it's not working out. Apparently the 05-06 rsx is different than 02-04 in the rear or they are using the same brackets as DC2 without trying them out.. (they kept telling me to reference DC2 photos for install)

The driver side is lower than the passenger side for pinch weld locations... I didn't notice till I tried to mark holes for diffuser...

This is driver side... fits great
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_181845_zpsr7zqxidg.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_181845_zpsr7zqxidg.jpg.html)

this is passenger side... not so much, short about 2.5"
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_184248_zpsft3ujsu9.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_184248_zpsft3ujsu9.jpg.html)

So i measured the height of the pinch welds...
driver side
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_184856_zpsie5diqxc.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_184856_zpsie5diqxc.jpg.html)

Passenger side
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140218_184818_zpsqnirsbw6.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140218_184818_zpsqnirsbw6.jpg.html)

So now I'm waiting to hear back from TopOne as I emailed them, and will be calling them this afternoon if no response...

Love the new downpipe. Out of curiosity in what order do you have your sensors in the exhaust? I see all 3 are very close and right behind each other.

I forgot to mention that part. Ok so the highest bung I just welded on when I made the other half of the downpipe. My AEM A/F gauge will be going there. The middle one is unusable as it won't clear the sway bar. Then my factory O2 is on the back one closet to flex pipe.

I forgot to mention that part. Ok so the highest bung I just welded on when I made the other half of the downpipe. My AEM A/F gauge will be going there. The middle one is unusable as it won't clear the sway bar. Then my factory O2 is on the back one closet to flex pipe.

Gotcha. I was going to say they may not read right all bunched up like that but sounds like you took care of that :thumb:

I did that on my old DC5 but it only lasted like a month. Between getting scraped and getting wet it didn't hold up very well.

I did that on my crx. The stainless exhaust got stained from it holding in moisture. I wouldn't do it again. It was a cool thought but the benefits were next to none. And a waste of 50 bucks per roll

Buddy Dillon took some photos too and helped me out

We started out the day by fixing an oil leak that Zack chased down to a "Christmas tree" of plumbing tees for his AEM oil pressure sending unit, OEM sending unit, and turbo feed line. Here's where we started:

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cZ24boJZiLk/UyaBLLYUJsI/AAAAAAAAHA0/XYkL93sE_lk/s1600/Fixing+the+Leak.jpg

Good idea of where the leak was at:

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3lwbEb48hXU/UyaCKMFJEyI/AAAAAAAAHCk/_w6du3MRd9w/s1600/The+Fittings+and+the+Leak.jpg

So I wrapped some "heavy duty" teflon tape around a brass elbow fitting and put it back into the tee as tightly as possible.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-g3tItyjsJEY/UyaCEECq49I/AAAAAAAAHCM/OQA3MnnvEjI/s1600/The+Elbow+and+the+Tee.jpg

To allow the elbow to connect to the AEM Sending Unit I had to grind down the tee's backside:

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-48W7hS4Wfsw/UyaA9wzjCfI/AAAAAAAAHAU/MQF5zyqGuyU/s1600/Grinding+Down+the+Tee+for+the+AEM+Unit.jpg

Voila

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sTxVPOTAZpo/UyaBs9Tne3I/AAAAAAAAHBs/1Tdq5ZHK-UA/s1600/Screwing+in+the+AEM+Unit.jpg

Got under the car and went Santa on this b*tch...puttin' Christmas trees up in this b*tch.. :fyea:

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YGh9po7HZbI/UyaCNrL0XnI/AAAAAAAAHCs/MR7gLGst_IQ/s1600/The+Finished+Fittings.jpg

Some other odds n' ends we took care of include a new throttle cable which you can see Spaz cutting metal crimps off of here:

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kUwxWeqd02k/UyaBKM84COI/AAAAAAAAHAs/cHveAZKQlKI/s1600/Grinding+off+the+Crimps.jpg

Re-tucking and fixing a leak on a PVC line:

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mxDyf7Stphs/UyaApNGKX7I/AAAAAAAAG_0/RMFnCvawgls/s1600/Dat+Tuck+Doe.jpg

Clamping up the DP:

Getting the O2 sensors in:

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AKNyl6aRfNY/UyaCEALBnJI/AAAAAAAAHCQ/oQ5wU9H_gGI/s1600/Test+Fitting+the+Turbo.jpg

ok plenty of updates.. loading photos now.

So I finally am starting to get the car back on the road. So I have a bunch of work ahead of me. So one of the items on my list was swap out my sideskirts to the new one.. but I must admit I am COMPLETELY DISSAPOINTED with the new TopOne products.

Anyways started taking off my sidekskirts

unbolting the old TopOne add on skirts

Here is the old verse the new.. the old one was HUGE compared to the new one. It was wider and more aggressive and the winglet was twice the size..
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140322_190052_zpsriticmz8.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140322_190052_zpsriticmz8.jpg.html)

winglet comparison

None of the preholed bolt holes match up.. so I clamped them together and redrilled them

Ok so I was searching around while installing my quick release steering wheel and everyone talked about breaking the clockspring to get it off. I didn't see why everyone struggled I figured it out right away how to take it off without busting it.. So I thought I would share

pull clock spring forward and out
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/Personal%20Steering%20Wheel/20140322_151109_zpsuggzmg8w.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/Personal%20Steering%20Wheel/20140322_151109_zpsuggzmg8w.jpg.html)

This is the piece we are trying to remove without breaking
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/Personal%20Steering%20Wheel/20140322_151938_zps981wmftj.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/Personal%20Steering%20Wheel/20140322_151938_zps981wmftj.jpg.html)

To do so just release the bottom clip with a flat head screw driver
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/Personal%20Steering%20Wheel/20140322_152021_zpsxlzxdqge.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/Personal%20Steering%20Wheel/20140322_152021_zpsxlzxdqge.jpg.html)

Then the harder part everyone gets stuck on.. using a flat head push down here
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/Personal%20Steering%20Wheel/20140322_152042_zpsz0stvt7d.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/Personal%20Steering%20Wheel/20140322_152042_zpsz0stvt7d.jpg.html)

As you can see it's just a push tab you need to push down on to release the clip
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/Personal%20Steering%20Wheel/20140322_151948_zpsrfcz4yxt.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/Personal%20Steering%20Wheel/20140322_151948_zpsrfcz4yxt.jpg.html)

and now you've successfully removed the clock spring without breaking it.

but I forgot to buy the hub so I need to wait till that comes in the mail

HondaBond where? What part are you referring to? The oring gasket for the sandwich?

Yep, the O-ring gasket. I just put a small line of Hondabond the whole way around and I have never had an issue with a sandwich

So again I find myself fighting with the new TopOne diffuser... this time it's because I have a lip kit on my rear bumper.. the diffuser was made for no lips, so my bumper is longer that factory nothing really fits right...

Here is the final gap between bracket and diffuser
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/Messenger_5854365039357456562_13957893942630249_zp ssnevbtqu.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/Messenger_5854365039357456562_13957893942630249_zp ssnevbtqu.jpg.html)

So I'm gonna put some spacers and make it work. So I got out the whiteout to mark my holes
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140325_171713_zpsgexg3mul.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140325_171713_zpsgexg3mul.jpg.html)

http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140325_171740_zps8cbrfbrv.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140325_171740_zps8cbrfbrv.jpg.html)

and then drilled them out
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140325_173029_zps6e6yb51v.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140325_173029_zps6e6yb51v.jpg.html)

of course none of the hardware will work. So to the hardware store I go for longer bolts
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140325_180659_zpsjoyafsat.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140325_180659_zpsjoyafsat.jpg.html)

They didn't really line up well so instead of taking it apart to redrill I just widened the holes
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140325_193659_zpsi4qrr2ta.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140325_193659_zpsi4qrr2ta.jpg.html)

And this is just a temporary solution since I'm getting very frustrated. But this is just to size it up. Put a couple nylon spacers in and will clean this up so it looks pretty I promise
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140325_220407_zpsnu2wusim.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140325_220407_zpsnu2wusim.jpg.html)

Then decided it's time to put the taillights and new gaskets back on! So I took some cleaner and cleaned around the area the gasket will be sitting... it was nasty dirty
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/TopOne/20140325_224147_zpsuxatoebc.jpg (http://s918.photobucket.com/user/typespaz/media/TopOne/20140325_224147_zpsuxatoebc.jpg.html)

Took the car to the Dyno to get tuned. Of course had complications.. my Boost Solenoid didn't want to turn on.. turns out I wired it up like an S300 not Kpro... I don't know wtf I was thinking. Fixed now but just going to street tune it to finish. So it is only tuned off of wastegate spring pressure 8psi. Made 380whp and 290lb torque

Those are nice numbers for only 8 psi! Street tuning is good for adding boost though since the boost control is closed loop it will give you the most consistent results since the load on the street is tough to 100% replicate on a dyno.

So, don't know if you guys found this thread. Very informative. Hp reading is useless. The tq rating seems to be more important according to what these guys are saying. Also, May have changed recently, they were saying that top speed from the first post is very limited unless you have a high revving engine. All in all there are many guys buying these and road racing. If they would do a group buy for 6k I'd buy a set without hesitation. Hbu guys?

Now you gotta get the hanging nutsack to compliment the rear end. I personally liked the look of two huge stainless steel nuts with a stainless wire holding them together, those are real automotive nuts. I might just order a set and install them. After all, rotrex...you know.

Decided the red stands out to much in the front badge with all of my black accents

I think those O rings are to replace the ones that seal the Skunk2 valve cover hardware.

That doesn't happen these days anymore with people building cars........ They build it so it will look good in "others" eyes

Cool man. When first I read about your build on crsx, I got the impression you bought your car used for some reason. Awesome. Buying new attaches you to the car even more. I love that you have been sponsored and have been in magazines. You deserve it and if you didn't win some shows, well it's probably because those are popularity contests. Everything about your car screams mustache ride, err awesome.

yeah I know i shouldnt let it get to me and i wont. I have built my car to my exact specifications. Yesterday i made some phone calls and ordering up Manly Hbeams and Wiseco pistons. Gonna run 10.0:1 compression and do a engine build.

How much were the wisecos? Because JE has some really nice asymmetrical pistons available now that is 'new technology' in the sense that they figured out a way to make an asymmetrical piston strong enough for boosted applications. The pistons are lighter and stronger than a traditional full round skirt piston. I got my set of JE's for like $640ish if the wisecos are close in price it may be something you want to consider, just throwing it out there. You plan to do anything to the head?
