Sick man. Can't wait to see it up again. I am about to update my thread with info from the track last night.

Sold my PTE6766 as well :-) Getting a Borgwarner S366 in it's place, PTE's customer service was horrible and i'm not about to deal with that crap.

I'm going with more of a grassroots approach to this project, i'm extremely green when it comes to seat time so i'm just making the car functional and getting it ready for some fun this season.

Awesome! S366 is what my friend "bottled morphine" had on his rsx I believe. Made 800whp on it on moderate boost levels.

In for pics and updates!

Ok folks, soooooooooo i'm having some fitment issues with my new manifold, but it's actually my fault, i faild to disclose some information about my setup and so now i must wait again LOL, but thanks to Tim @ Turbo-Elements (http://www.turboelements.com/) for working with me on this and he's making me a new one as soon as i send this one back so no biggie, but now that i can sort of press "reset" on a portion of my build... some other options have come to light... So we're going twin scroll dual gates and we' gon' have some fun LOL

Ahh ok you have a .91 A/R. I bought the .88A/R because it was the largest available in an open scroll frame

PetefromtheStreets
04-22-2015, 05:31 PM
And those manifolds are CHEAP for being basically custom.

You know you can run an open scroll manifold on a twin scroll turbo right? You just don't see the benefits of the twin scroll :-/

Buuuuuuut Tim could probably make you a twin scroll single gate manifold

i've had the car now for almost a year since it dyno'd and ran it's first pass... since then i've been changing little things here and there... and when installing the MercRacing IAC Plate, i pulled the throttle body out and saw this unplugged port... did some googelin' it's for a B Series MAP sensor... soooooooooo this MASSIVE vacuum leak has been there since day ONE....

Plugged it... and installed the IAC Valve Plate... now i'm waiting on Tim from Turbo-Elements for my new manifold and then i can crank this SOB over and see what the idle should REALLY sound like!

Awesome! Post a review for sure, with pics of course!

Struggle is sooo real. Although, I had my RBC IM ported and polished, all vac ports closed and relocated to the bottom, and the inlet was ported to the OEM TB diameter. So it worked out well lol.

Maybe in the future if I tinker with the car more, I'll add a 1xx TB. For now, stocker does the trick.

Will do man!! the 90 is probably the biggest i'd go for a streetable use, but if this helps the bigger TBs i couldn't imagine it not helping some even larger ones too!

Once the car is running again, i'll definitely post clips and everything!

Ok..... so here's an update.....

Turbo-Elements... never again....

After 6 months of waiting on a replacement since the one that took 3 months to make didn't work... The new one arrived...

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r135/ArmyDude87/K-Build/received_10153269342849039_zpszcnlomwh.jpeg

So off the bat, i know it's gonna be tight due to wastegate placement and direction... So we decide to mock it all up...

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r135/ArmyDude87/K-Build/received_10153270211904039_zpsj1gyckva.jpeg

Here it is all mocked up

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r135/ArmyDude87/K-Build/20150807_220638_zpsmdsskqnq.jpg

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r135/ArmyDude87/K-Build/20150807_220701_zpszb54skkv.jpg

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r135/ArmyDude87/K-Build/20150807_220751_zpsssqhycli.jpg

So now i have to do a slew of things to get this bad boy to work...

1. Tuck Brake-Lines behind the firewall, thankfully i got a rywire kit courtesy of a friend :wiggle:

http://s143.photobucket.com/user/ArmyDude87/media/K-Build/IMG_1790_zps5mgojy4r.jpg.html

2. reinstall manifold and gates to route dumps

3. reinstall turbo to route new uppipe

4. Take it all off, and off to ceramic coating :spaz:

5. Final bolt-on, then re-do upper pipe for the turbo inlet

a few of other assorted things are left as well...

- Install Headlight/Brake Light/Turn Lights Etc
- Install New In Line Fuel Filter *remember car was delivered without one*
-Seats/Harnesses
-Injector Cleaning
-Oil Change
-Re Tune

It should roll pretty smoothly once all the fab work is done:fyea:

In for before & after clip! Why did you sell the S2 90mm TB and go with the new K-Tuned 90mm TB?

Tell me about it :confused2:

Well, i bought the IACV Plate from Merc-Racing and the S2 TB has been known to stick kinda badly, mine was still ok, but i honestly felt like it made sense to swap it out.

Hope mine doesn't stick. I'll be slightly pissed. Lol

Why is this? I've been seeing a lot about the K-Tuned 90mm TB lately. Would you mind posting up a review in the bolt-on section? Would be great to share info with other communities and to support K-Tuned as an innovative business.

I'll be doing a comprehensive review after we get the car running. Outlining the pros vs cons and hopefully that helps folks when they decide to go bigger.

K-Tuned has amazing products as well as excellent support for their products. Something that unfortunately can't be said of other companies.

We've heard that a lot about K-Tuned! And from having met with the staff and owner (John Veloso) of K-Tuned on several occasions, we definitely agree. As for your review, we're all looking forward to it. I created a thread specifically for this TB and it's reviews. Here's the link when you're ready to take the hit. You can reserve a post if you'd like. http://www.boostedk20.com/forums/threads/1280-K-Tuned-90mm-Throttle-Body-Review-Thread

Thanks!!! Going through some changes right now, found a lot of things that needed to be changed. I'll have a full list of the changes that it needed.
