So tonight i ripped off the front lower control arms off the ep to replace the bushing that were torn and worn, removing the stuff was easy but dam when a rotor screw is rusted and you have no power tools, what a PITA it is, heres my coverage of the work i put in.

Okay so after 2 days of intense work i completed the energy suspension bushings install. While i had the lca's off i replaced the driver side outer boot that had a slash on it, and replaced the passenger side axle that was due for replacement. After everything was buttoned up i went for a quick spin down the neighborhood and what a difference these bushings made!! Im overall happy and cant wait till after alignment on monday to give her an wot pass and see if the handling has improved. Onto my pix.

Just got back from the alignment and how bad was it, camber, and toe were all fked up but glad the homie hooked it up and now the ep is good to go. Did a wot pass and adios tq steer!!! Finally my issue has been solved.

i was also surprised on the new sensors they has there for the alignment, it clamps to the tires, not the rims like the traditional way.

Honestly have not a clue. I just know its stainless and it's been used. Lol

But I know after install and before you start the car for the first time... You have to clean the manifold to ensure there are no finger prints on it. They will burn into the stainless. Happened on my header in my accord and it bugged the shit out of me every time I popped the hood.

You are using a 3 port now btw not a 2 port. And the benefits of the 4 port are faster spool and the ability to use a lower psi spring and make more boost from the lower spring than the 3 port could from a higher spring.

oops how dumb of me yes 3 port, well ill have to see if with this i will accomplish my goal im only seeking 500 or less, id settle for 475+, so itll all depend, o and btw fellas the PTE 6266 is on it way, ETA 7 days...

Ya the 4 port will help that large 6266 feel a little smaller and allow you to run lower psi in 1st and 2nd and still get your peak boost that you want in the higher gears.

So this weekend i took some liberty and test fitted the sidewinder manifold, wastegate, and dumptube. The original path of the dumptube was a bust since it was designed to fit the jdl manifold and is meant for an rsx. But who said my dumptube was going down wards??? Onto cutting it and bending it how i want it.. Still waiting on turbo, new valvecover i have on the way and downpipe to continue. Getting close!!

It's a single gate mani. Your probably seeing his dump tube poking up there. :thumb:

Btw- love the manifold and that bottom gate doesn't look too bad with the angle that flange leads in. Can't wait to see what it looks like with the turbo in there too. And are you running the dump tune up through the hole for your wiper arm? Looks like It. Lol

I see your point. It would probably be if benefit to make a shield for that area. But looks like coolant hoses are of no issue. Think he's running it without heat.

I'm thinking of adding another gate on my manifold exactly like that using a 90" weld elbow so it makes a smooth transition, BUT im scared about the wirign and coolant hoses.

I dont think you'll have much issue with creep, manifold looks good

Yes the original plan was to have the dt exit the hood but after mock up it wouldve been difficult to pull it off, so next was the middle hole for the wiper arm, its perfect with the right angle to it.

I no longer have heater hoses and my harness has been rerouted through the top of the vc under the spark plug cover. The only wiring ill protect is going to be the eps harness.

I've seen shitty as hondas at the track with that. Their exhaust comes out from under the bay and then straight up to a flapper like a diesel, but the car is otherwise like stock and just makes a lot of noise and goes slow

First off all this couldnt have been possible if i wouldnt have had received the vband clamp that i purchased from the Anthony that was shipped to me from All in Fab on Thur and got to me Sat morning, i honestly didnt have hope to get it till Mon. So here i present to ya my 2k13 setup!!

I here show the diff in thickness and strength if the AEM tubing vs Anthony's tubing for the vac kit.
On the left is the AEM. I had to upgrade to 14ft from pump to nozzle due to the new turbo placement and Anthony was generous to hook me up with 20ft free of charge.

just read through the whole thread. Awesome car man definantly my favourite ep3 yet. Only thing im worried about is your dump tube melting your cowl when it gets hot. Not sure if you have a plan for that or not.. and as for making the dump unique, i just like the tip cut back on a 45* angle, nothing too outrageous but a nice touch to it.

Keep up the good work ill be following this one to see the finished result!

I agree with Mercer, monjarassi have you thought of creating a carbon fiber surround like people do with exhaust tips that get too close to bumpers or the ones that go around the hole that goes around a fender or bumper? That's a possibility

What was it that happened?

Well 1st of all there was police like crazy everywhere, there cars i'd line up to and didn't want to race me. It was the worst tx2k ive attended so far. And to top it off just now that i was coming home my serpentine belt let loose and all the autoparts are closed so my last night to go out and race before ppl head back or leave the city i wont be able to attend. What a disappointment if ya ask me

PetefromtheStreets
03-18-2013, 01:51 PM
That's crazy man. And idk why people would show up to a Tx2k and not race! They just come to watch and crowd up the streets and attract more attention to the actual racers. I know that feeling also. What's up on the goodies list for the Ep now?

Overboosted!!!! I thunk it allowed the turbo to squeeze 34lbs + and lifted his head. Not sure if it was tuner error or install error.

Sounds like it did the job though. Id say tuner error. With advancements in technology comes new shit to learn. The 4 port would hold boost better than a 3 port. Seems to me like head studs weren't torqued properly.

I don't think it was either error, just that his head gasket possibly failed and/or he needs to torque his head studs more. Vit had the same problem on his motor and torquing the head studs more and a cosworth head gasket fixed it. The 4 port works in the same was as the 3 port in that if it fails or is turned off, you run right off the wastegate.

It's a possibility. Any way to test that with the manifold still on the car? And there is no way I can get a torque wrench in where I am working, my 1/4'' wrench barely fits, but I am quite positive I have torqued it past 10 ft/lbs as that also is not much torque at all.

LOL the greddy kit is kinda easier. Its top mount so you can do it without lowering subframe. This type of setup not so much! lol O well. I'm going to clean the mating surfaces as best I can and hope that works, if it still creeps I guess next thing is to have that flange tested.... :(

Didnt take long to put on, just having the precise measurements and boom my bumper straps are on, i love how this has helped keep my bumper/fender/headlights contact points in perfect shape.

Thanks to the shitty weather here in TX again i have to wait till tomorrow and install the splitter. But on a side note i went out and got my hardware for the install and it should be good to go.
I bought WeatherMax stainless steel hex nuts, finish washers, and flat phillips machine screws. Here are some pics of the products..

Okay guys so the front wind splitter is done and well fitted and secured!! Onto testing this thing and see how well it does over 70mph. Also just registered my hardparked raceKar to Power Cruise @ MSR houston taking place July 6th & 7th where ill be able to get some action road racing and getting the feel for it, time to switch gears. More work will be getting done to the splitter so don't freak out if it don't look professional, i tried!!

This is sweet! The hybrid 8th gen has something similar. It's to aid in fuel economy. The car that just recently set the supercharged record in an 8th gen has one of the hybrid under carriage things retro-fitted to his si.

Okay well been working on the splitter from creating stronger brackets to support it and opening a hole for easy oil changes, also took advantage on making my splitter look better than when it first did and here some pics. I re sanded it down, primered it, hit it with gloss black and added the APR trim they sell for the lip of the splitter.
