I've never seen or heard of a rear mount turbo 8th gen? Unless by rear you mean mounted just behind the motor and not like back in the rear of the car.

CNC engine dynamics? I had messages that guy 3-4 times and called and left a message and never got a call back but got a vague email and nothing back to my response. About 2 weeks ago. Called/emailed 2 other places and got several responses. Ended up taking it to one of those places last week due to the lack of response from CNC.

Well I got the intercooler mocked up, it fit basically as i imagined, but was always wondering how it would end up. It fit like a glove, I ordered the wrong coupler for the tb side and had to cut it up, but ill grab another reducer. I have a lot more mork to do but Im getting closer. The upper water neck needs done still, and ill have to make a new throttle bracket. Ill also be rerouting the fuel line and make some brackets. Getting the bov flanged welded on tomorrow on the endtank. Anyways....

Looks gorgeous, I love how the turbo and intercooler and throttle body are also close to each other. Makes me want to do a w2a intercooler! As for the catch can, it depends on where you plan on putting the new bungs on the valve cover. Are you going to have the two bungs in front like most, plug the intake manifold, and the punch out the PCV port so you can attach to the catch can as well? Answer these and we"ll figure out a nice spot. Which catch can do you have? Breather I hope

You should take the valve itself out and punch it clear. Have a fitting from that going to your catch can as well.

This. :goodpost:

I plugged my IM on that side bc I didn't need the vacuum source. Remove the pcv valve, stick something in it and 'punch' out the internals. Re-install and connect to catch can. Now, you can have all the lines go to the driver side, or have them go to the pass side. If you're having the top-most port on the drivers side of the vc closed, then i'd say the passenger side. What ports will you be using from the vc, just the two you will be adding or the oem one as well?

There are other ways to handle crank case evacuation. You could leave the PCV stock and run a line to a slashcut in the exhaust and that would give you constant vacuum venting which IMO is better than it has to be pushed out by boost or just slowly vent out. Because in stock form it functions by the motors vacuum pulling the fumes out.

So basically setup like rail cars. Vent the valve covers to the headers/exhaust?

Yes you can do it that way, just be sure to put a check valve in the line, and this would work for both the valve cover vent and the pcv. You can also leave it stock depending on power level several have done this and had success. Currently on my boosted 8th I have the pcv unmodified and I have a filter on the valve cover vent. I am only making ~375whp so I think this is fine for my setup, for power I would d something different, probably the slashcut in the exhaust thing.

I did the same as Sispeed did with his PCV (gutted and left open), also added 4 vents to my valve cover and modified the inside of the valve cover to vent whatever it can out to the T1 catchcan.

Somewheres today i saw someone drill and weld 2 -10an aluminum bungs on the BACK of the k series block, similar to what Bseries have. That to me would vent the bottom end quite a bit?

How did you modify the inside of your vc? And the b-series motor is arranged 180* compared to the k-series. Exhaust in front of bay, intake in rear. IIRC, thats why they vent the rear of the VC, thats the high end. IM side on ours is the same. So, rear of the VC on a k-series would be incorrect. Anyone else want to chime in?

My thought on that would be that you have more heat on the back side of your block being the exhaust side and more likely to have moisture ect coming from there.

The side port on my valve cover is vented to atmosphere via little k&n filter.I modified the underneath of the valve cover to also vent to the catch can via the back 2 ports. I drilled out the inside baffle tray, attached a "link" from the 2 back -10an fittings between the inner valve cover wall hole and baffle tray "wall" (which i drilled 2 holes into this wall) and then rewelded the baffle tray back in place. Basically my rear vents act as the same as the vent on the side of the valve cover.

Hard to explain but it works good. Any ventilation i can get will save my rings once push more then 600whp+.

this is how i got mine set up http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn164/boostedk20eg/DSC_0209.jpg

I can't seem to find the link/picture/discussion on k20a regarding the 2 ports being welded on the block to vent the crank case. *shrugs*

Thanks Adam

I literally ripped it 3 times down the street and back and here we stand. I have a new fuel pump to install. The stock one is still in there believe it or not. Ill post more next week

Looks great, Ryan! I love that turbo manifold. Screams Function > Form. And the IM is nice too. I enjoy my sleeper IM myself ;)

I've always loved and still wish to have an EM1 project car, and I've always loved the EM2's body wise, but their powertrain blew. You made it right man. I look forward to more of this build!

Fittings look great, make sure to be careful and not knick em up! They make my wallet dry too :sadbanana: I also need to post a write up of nylon braided vs SS line. Nylon typically needs to be changed every 2-3 years, and SS lines usually 10-12. I'll explain in a thread soon.

I wonder if a manifold that would fit on an 8th?

A manifold like that could be Fabbed to work on an 8th , that one however would hit the cowl, the runner design and route would have to be different !

I have a brand new one here for a K20Z3 head also if anyone is interested in buying it, downside is, it has a RSX-S cable tb bolt pattern.

I need to buy a AEM wideband sensor, Hondata 4bar, working with P2R to make the RSX stock IAT boost friendly to make a hold down bracket possibly. I need a dry cell battery and bracket. VSS isn't hooked up. I'm debating on converting it to the 04 style.

As for the wideband sensor. Go to advanced and give them this part number 17018.... It's a bosch unit which is exactly what aem uses except they re-mark then to say aem.

From what I hear those read lower AF ratios than the rsx one?

I have both in my car. The bosch reads a couple points higher then my stock rsx sensor does.

So back to this, So this is what I need to be using instead of the RSX-S one? this is my next piece to purchase and I dont need to be spending twice as much on something that is what i think it is.

Only if you are using an aem wideband. If your using the factory wideband then get the 02-04 rsx-s sensor.
