Thanks. I've thought about the green lugs but can't find any. The calipers would be hard to paint since their brembos. Wait till I post the pro pics. Once I get them all back ill post. Plus new mods coming for Christmas. Stay tuned

Are the tires stock? They look really small on the car? Something just seems off, I'm not sure if it's the small tires or because it's not lowered. None the less it's still a beautiful car.

New mods

Eibach pro kit lowering springs (1.1 drop in front and 1.5 drop in rear), BMR adjustable panhard bar, Barton solid shifter bracket (no more missing 3rd), camber bolts, and I just ordered BMR rear lower control arms and BMR relocation bracket for the LCA's. Then I just plastidipped the 5.0 emblems.

I will take pics once evrything is installed.

Nice! Is this how Santa treated you for Christmas? Glad to see you're modding her, shes definitely a beast that loves mods :thumb:

And about the green lug nut situation, I bought a set of extended lightweight aluminum drag lugs and had them powdercoated jet black to match my paint. I'm sure you can go the same for your green. That would look insane with black wheels

BUSHGUTS

Ya the car is def larger but easier to judge. On the honda it was hard for me to see backing up because the rear is sloped upward. Plus on the stang having back up sensors helps a lot too.

I think i might just get black lugs later on. Im still working on getting the custom RTR side stripe next. Ya the mod bug bit me. I know i said i wasnt gonna mod this car but we all know how that goes. I will post pics once all the suspension mods are installed. Stay tuned.

Sounds good to me, and yea we all know that story. Mod bug is with us for life, talk about a disease. But it's a good disease, makes life more enjoyable! Whats an RTR side strip? I like suspension mods, I'm tuned in!

BUSHGUTS

The RTR stripe is the side decal that follows the curvey body lines on the rear 1/4 panel, door, and front fender. Just look up rtr mustang on google and you will see it there.

Im gonna start my build from the ground up starting with suspension, then power. No point in having power if i cant put it to the ground. Its already bad enough that the factory traction controls (all 3 of them) cant stop wheelspin. So i have to do it myself.

Gotchya, looks nice! And that's a great idea. Most guys around here with the new 5.0's say their first mod is drag radials. Nitto 555r's to be specific. So what you're saying makes sense now that I think about it. Powerful beast you have!

It must have a boosted K20 in it if 3 factory traction controls can't stop the wheelspin hehe :D

Install is on sunday, woo hoo. Alignment this week then. Ya the radials are freaking awesome. I borrowed a set off a friend of mine at the track. Only had time to make 1 pass and i ended up missing 3rd because of that crappy shifter bracket. Thats why i bought the upgraded bracket. The tranny was so tq'd that the bracket moved causing me to miss the gear. The factory bracket is rubber and held in place by zip ties. Bad design by fords part.

Heres the vid. Nitto nt05r
CcdJj0mpoEA

Ran a 13.1 missing 3rd. The craziest thing about a mustang 5.0 is this. Most cars out there need to boost them to even hit low 12's. i just have to add tires, lol.

Also want to add i ran 12.9 @110 on street tires on my 4th pass ever owning the car

Nice pass! DRs definitely make a big difference. And with your power virtually stock, it's only gonna get better from here on out. Check out DRs from ksboi, he can prob get a better deal than any local spot or online. I'm gonna grab another set this spring.

And I'm sure you can't wait till Sunday! Props on the run, glad you're having fun with her.

shifter bracket (stock vs aftermarket)
http://i1247.photobucket.com/albums/gg625/bushguts07/MUSTANG%202/206.jpg

in this pic you see a box that is where the shifter bracket connects to. what causes the 3rd gear mis shift is the stock bracket is rubber and the box moves inside that rubber and the factory shift linkage line goes inside that bracket and by that box moving it mis aligns the shift causing you to miss the gear

http://i1247.photobucket.com/albums/gg625/bushguts07/MUSTANG%202/220.jpg

the car now has no more wheel hop and now it hooks better. no body roll and it handles like an import, lol. the relocation brackets changed the pinion angle downward resulting in making the tires dig in the ground and gain traction. i also no longer miss 3rd gear. all in all it was well worth it. the car feels more planted and is actually faster because it no longer hops.

Never really liked stangs much but your generation grew on me after seeing a shelby gt flying down the road. Love them now, just need to add a nice big turbo under to hood or a whipple ;)

Do you notice prices on parts way cheaper then the civic?

BUSHGUTS
01-08-2013, 03:41 PM
some are cheaper n some arent. just depends on the brand i guess. the tuning device is only 380 so thats a lot cheaper than hondata. headers are anywhere form 400-2000 and the install time on headers are 10 hrs because you have to disassemble a lot of things. exhausts are a lot more money. if you want a good catback your gonna spend 1500 easy. axle backs are anywhere from 300-800. intakes are about 350-400 but they call them cai, i call them sri. but with just an intake and tune people are hitting low 12's easy.

Those 5.0's are definitely beasts. I've got a friend he's got 100 shot and drags on and ran 11.30 or 11.50 he said. An auto car.

Ok, i just got done moving the LCA to the middle hole. Wow what a difference. Before i moved it today i would just spin. Now no spin at all. On a 5-10 roll, i just mash the gas and all it does is hook, literally. Its so much faster because i have gained tons of traction. Now i cant wait for track day. Honestly the best mods you can do is the shifter bracket, LCA and relocation bracket. Car is more of an animal now. It just accelerates unbeleivably. And all 3 tractions controls were off too.

I can say this, my old jrsc fg2 would not be able to catch up with this car off the line nor would it be able to reel it in. What a difference traction makes.
