Exactly. These are the plugs the top tuners and racers use.

I'm running BKR9EIX, what makes these better?

these are not considered oem style plugs, these are considered a race version.

What does that mean? This is new to me.

under extreme cylinder pressures/conditions the porcelain is less likely to fail.

I've been running the bkr9eix plugs for about 12k miles now, its my understanding that turbo 8th gens change plugs every 10k for some reason.. So I might need a new set

It's typically to prevent carbon build up

What should these plugs be gapped to?
What should these plugs be gapped to?
Depends on boost and power levels, but my boosted 8th gen with ~15-16 psi of boost making ~450whp, Vit suggested a gap of like .022''. This is with different plugs, but I imagine same applies. I use the NGK iridium heat range 9 plugs.

bodyman Do you still have these? I'll need a set shortly. I ended up getting local bkr9eix's back then due to last minute timing.

Just gapped mine to .025, cars seems to be running good now. I had N/A plugs in there with like a .040 gap. Me and my buddy were street tuning my car because I just got done with my build. With the N/a plugs in there car would buck a bit at higher rpm. Now shes running way better with the Ik22 at .025, but still have quite bit of tuning left.

Interesting. I've been running the NGK BKR9EIX's for a couple years & never gapped them. I assumed that for boost levels between 12-15 psi, the factory gap was good. Should I regap my next set of plugs?

I read somewhere either on here or k20a. They say .028-.030 low boost settings and .022-.025 high boost. I running it at .025 at like 14psi right now and its fine.

Hmm....Thats the thing though. I'm not sure where I fall @13psi. For stock internals, I know its on the high side but ignoring that fact, 13psi isn't really much. I guess I'll just gap my next set to .025 like you & see what happens

With higher boost the spark gets blown out hence the reason for the tighter gap .I run mine at .022

I would suggest gapping them down a bit. It will help prevent it from breaking up at high rpm.
