This is my second turbo build on this car, i got rid of the car for a while but luckily i was able to get it back easily.

FIRST BUILD-

TDautowerkes manifold- this thing was a joke, total POS and there customer service is a joke, i could go on and on about them.

Roberts imports charge piping

Roberts imports down pipe and dumptube/3inch turbo back.

PTE 6076 turbo

tial MVS 44mm

ID1000CC injectors/walbro 255/crushed FPR

PTE 650hp intercooler

custom fuel rail dampner.

tuned by mike soxfan143 formerly from e-tunez

460whp/320wtq @ 16psi 92% IDC.

stock blocks holds up to 600hp + Colombia from CMB proved this at NCSRA @ moroso. had a stock block k20 in the 550whp+ range i want to say he had it at 600 whp.

ill have to see how all that works out. but i do plan to come down there to run some 10s.

mike is my tuner. but jo hasnt told me wether or not he wants CMB to tune it

yea, i was going to go down to there last year to get a tune and install the new trans but i ended up getting a tune from mike and holding off on the trans.

been working closely with jo on doing something crazy with the 8th gen since then.

the TD manifold doesnt allow for the use of a air filter where as the jotech manifold does.. also a larger turbo can be used with the jo manifold.. they are similar in style but look at the 2 middle runners on the manifolds..

jotech mani= runners close together.

tda= runners further apart.

my TDA manifold made great power.. spooled good..and didnt creep.. the welds just didnt last it was crap.


as far as being hand welded it is hand welded by Gato who works in conjunction with jotech now.. alot of shops out source to welders for there manifolds and call them there own.

for example TDautowerkes uses FAB-WORX for alot of stuff but apparently not the 8th gen manifold

So i have a pretty cool idea for a fuel system.

i plan on using race gas and i do not like the idea of having to drain and refill when switching from race gas to pump gas.

so in order to get around all of that, im going to be using a 5 gallon fuel cell with 2 bosch044 fuel pumps for race gas use.

so here is how it will work.. there will be a fuel solenoid on the factory feed line and a fuel solenoid on the race gas line coming from the fuel cell... obviously there will be 2 switches 1 for each fuel system, there will be an arming switch for the fuel pumps and solenoid on the race gas system.

as for the return line.. there will be a return line going back to the fuel cell also governed by a fuel solenoid.

As i am sure that anyone who knows about fuel solenoids there are some that can stay open for an extended period of time and those that will burn out if they are open for more than a minute or so. i will be using custom made heavy duty plunger type solenoids.

Just to clarify, you won't have both tanks with gas in them at the same time, right? That's a decent amount of extra weight in the rear. If so, think about stiffer rear springs. Other than that, sounds like a good idea! Pics if you can

got the car running...

i ordered a precision 6265 from jotech, after waiting a few months with no word of shipment.. no tracking number.. no nothing nothing nothing!!never got the damn thing!!(all precisions fault)... and precision has yet to send my 950 bucks back to me with 2.5 weeks on the clock.

my old downpipe doesnt fit very well at all (crammed against the exhaust well) .. but ive drove the car for a week or so.. on 6psi its pretty nice the 30r spools very nice and still has a hefty top end.

the car is at roberts imports in louisville KY right now have a new downpipe made and some new intercooler pipes... after that im gunna see how far i can get on pump gas.

so obviously my whole goal of making a 10sec stock motor 8th gen street/drag car are pretty much done with... my buddy took me to some track days at some track in surrounding areas and i pretty much got hooked... not really worried about drag racing anymore lol.

Ive been DDing the car since early july..runs nice no problems. im only running 12psi right now but id like to see what it will do on 16 once it cools down a bit.

added a hybrid racing oil cap and a hybrid racing radiator hose kit. Next thing id like to do is finally get some nice wheels, i keep on not doing that lol

that evo was a ****ing mess and i HATED the interior.. im kind of a weird dude like little things just bother me to death and the inside of that car just started ****ing with my head.

so i love my 8th gen its plenty fast and it handles like a beast and they look so damn clean. i got banned from 8th because......

IMPORTdps made a thread in the supercharged section about the c38 rotrex 8th gen that dropped off the face of the earth made 350WHP!!! BEFORE THE LOW CAM!! (before vtec) which is mass BS.. they kept PMing me and hating and shit so i started shit back with them and i got perma banned for it.


as for my car, today i was headed to the drag strip to watch some buddies with EVOs run and my car started spewing oil out from under it.. knew it wasnt the engine so i was like DAMN there must be a hole in the transmission so i turned around and drove the the shop and threw it up on the lift and the axle seal was the cause of the leak so i pulled the axle. Turns out the donut that bolts to the block that is part of axle was ****ing broke in half and the transmission has been whining alot latley so ive been waiting for it to shread a gear well it looks like the LSD is done for so on monday (my day off) im gunna drop the transmission and get it ready for some new gears and synchros and a new LSD along with a new clutch.

other than that it runs awesome.. nice and smooth with great power all over.

i was used to the lag of the journal bearing 6076 which didnt even start to spool till 4000rpms.. my 30r is already starting to tear face at 4000rpms.

That importdps crap was such BS - they say 350whp on the low cam before vtec on the high cam.... :bsflag:

Hey man this build is sick! I plan on getting a gt3076r is that what u have? How many psi are u pushing? What whp are u making? I want around 400whp.

10-12 psi with a good tune will net you 400 EASY. i have no idea what whp im at currently, the tuning isnt complete yet but it makes 12psi right now and pulls hard as hell. ill probably stop at 16psi

well i decided that this car needs to be my daily driver and it needs to be fun and easy to drive so i switched to the 30r. ill never buy another precision first i had one go out on me.. then precision refused to give me any info as to why they had me waiting 3 months for my 6265.

i one day plan to build a dc2 with a k-series. ill for sure use a 35 or 40r on that car. lol

aww ****, when u say ur tranny is wining, does it sound like someone blowing air pretty loud in all gears? i have that sound and at first i thought it was my sri (temporarly back to stock) but its way loud :(

that sounds like a exhaust leak like u would get from flex pipe tear. lol

why are u temp. back to stock?

its like a metalic whinning noise like a little air compressor engine u blow a air mattress up with.

yea.. most likly an exhaust leak.

i havent heard anything good about the EFR yet. nor have i been impressed with anything they do.

yea there is that one guy who did the jotech efr that spools fast and makes good top end power.. but im willing to bet that doesnt nothing but spin.

I would love to tell you my experience with JOTECH, but then I know that it would end up getting around to them so I just leave it to myself. All I gotta say is that from the moment that I picked my car up from them I'm still fixing problems that they did half assed work. I was told to not say anything on 8th because I would get banned from the site but it looks like it ok to say stuff on this site. But maybe if I sit down here for an hour or so I'll write up a review for you guys.

Jo Tech Performance Review

Before I get started with this I want to say that I DO NOT exaggerate and have emails, quotations, & other people to back up what I'm about to say. Also want to that this is strictly customer to business review.

First of all before I even hired Jo Tech, I researched and looked for a company that would be capable of fabricating everything that I needed. I found several companies but after speaking with Jo he really sold me. I needed the car to be completed within a 17 day period & he said "No problem."

I drove the car up to Kissimmee, FL on a Saturday morning and then flew back. I asked how long do you think he said, "Papa, I should have it done by next Sunday." I was excited and happy with my decision to take the car to them.

Rather than go through all the details, to make a long story short. It took them 5 & half weeks, I had a friend drop by the shop 2 weeks into the build & he said that the car hadn't moved and all the boxes were still in the car. After the 4th week I made a surprise visit up to see the progression of the car and to my surprise NOTHING had been completed.

I had to make a list of what had to be done, which is ridiculous because I paying you thousands of dollars to do your job. They only had the intake & header off. He kept on telling me that they didn't know that the flange was different....everytime I called it was another excuse. I'm not the type of customer to harass, I'm extremely patient & understanding. But they have caller ID up there and believe me they were avoiding my calls. I would have to call from different numbers just to get updates. They didn't post any pictures of my build until about 7 days before I picked the car up.

Needless to say after 5 1/2 weeks they realistically worked on the car for about 10 days and rushed the build. Then when it came to tuning the car it was another disaster. Supposedly Colombia from CMB, his brother passed so he couldn't tune my car & I was quoted to have him tune the car. Instead they had some retard named OMAR tune it. The car made power but Jo's exact words before I left the car there originally was "If you don't make 400whp then we have a problem." The car made "386 whp & 254tq". I put that in quotes because on the dyno here locally when I went to retune it, it only put down 348 whp and 242tq. SO JO I GUESS WE HAD A PROBLEM! When I went to retune the car Omar had put a password on the flashpro so I couldn't upload any changes but COULD download his map. What he was trying to protect was his work but you need to know how flashpro works before you try to do something like that. He wouldn't give me the flashpro password, until after 4 days of arguing through text message (cause he wouldn't answer any of my phone calls) we finally came to a conclusion. I had him access my computer remotely and change the password. Once Turbogixxer and were able to retune it the car made 419whp & 313 tq. Jo problem fixed!


I'm not going to go into detail about payment but I was quoted one thing and then when I went to go pick it up he invoiced me something entirely different. $1,500 more than I was quoted. So tell me this, you guaranteed that you would have it done within the time period I asked but that didn't happen. You told me that I was going to have the car tune by CMB. That didn't happen. You quoted me something I thought was the final quote & that didn't happen. 1, 2, & 3 strikes your OUT!!! I was so angry. I didn't want to get into with him especially after a 4 hour drive up. I told him that I wasn't going to pay the final price and handed him the Florida State Law guidelines which states that before you proceed with work you have to tell the customer how much it will cost. We came to a "fair" price supposedly. He asked me if I was happy and I said "Yea" but that was just so that I could get out of there.

Ok now for the problems. The same night driving home. Both water temp gauge and oil temp gauge went out. They connected them without crimping and just wrapped it with electrical tape. I had to fix that. Next the car was over heating after I had asked Jo if need to change the radiator he said NO. Also after everything they never installed an Intake on the turbo. I asked him are you going to make an intake and he said "No there's no need for an intake." Beautiful.

Next problem, where the downpipe and the exhaust connect came apart and was dragging on the road. The downpipe is too short. I had to pull the exhaust as much as possible so that it would stay connected. I need to get an extention some how. Also the angle on the downpipe isn't enough so the exhaust hangs too low below the car. I need to get it bent too.

Next problem, it looks like they didn't have a clamp small enough for the charge pipe to connect to the turbo so they got a bigger one, cut it, and welded it. Well that lasted like a month and then the clamp failed and the charge pipe came off. That's really great work :chill:

Next problem, when they installed the new clutch master cylinder they never adjusted the engagement rod. When I took it to the track last night, the clutch started to slip after the 3rd run and wouldn't engage. Mind you I waited 30 minutes between each run. That shouldn't have happened. I waited an hour and drove the car home. Just took it for a test run now it's not slipping at all. I have to make some changes there now.

The finishing touches, they only put back 2 clips on the bottom fender lining so when I was driving the other day the fender lining came off along with the drivers side bumper.

I really can't remember much more at this point but this is pretty much the experience I had with them. I'm really disappointed in the whole experience and wish that I would have done it with another company. So I wish you the best of luck with your build but be aware that these Puerto Ricans do some shady stuff and cut corners. This is a fact. Maybe others haven't spoke out but I know 3 people personally that have had similar experiences with them. Jo is a smooth talker when it comes to getting you to bring the car there but once they have it you are at their mercy.

Sorry for the long review but I wanted to be as detailed as possible. Please don't re-post this anywhere else except for on this forum.

Holy shit man that sucks. I had a similar problem with hytech. Yes John at hytech built my NA k24 back in the day had it for 6months. When it was close to the 6th month he finally contracting a 3rd party to do the build and install. Guy stole lots of crap ie headlight bracket misc extra rocker assembly, thermostat, sensors.. Then when time came to make a header he made it for a EK when I have a RSX. My car was AT hIS shop!!! Lied to me about it. I came to pick up the car and he stuck me with a $3400bill

He still owes me 300 bucks for a 1000$ turbo ( 6265 ) i bought it last year and didnt see it for 6 months so i told hi
To give me my money back. Didnt happen fast at all my car has been boosted on the 30r for a month and i still dont have all my money back.

As for an intake..u cant use one with the non Efr manifold..just a filter. I dont know about ur mani.

IMO the manifolds are beautiful they make heavy power..but thats gato NOT jo lol.

He promises one thing and doesnt live up to it.he always has an excuse as to why im not getting my money or my product..infact he gave me the flange excuse on my manifold to.


I hope he gets his shit together because obviously they have potential...but this buisness is a fast buisness and you will get past up fast if your not on top of your shit.

The reason why people go to him is because he feeds them what they want to hear and then sticks it right in your pooper!

Your right gato does make quality parts but at the same time has too many projects at once. He needs to hire a project manager.

As for Jo his business practices aren't going to last long if he continues down this path. I hate to ruin a companies reputation but people need to know what companies are legitimate. This company is shady period.

No. i decided against that after jo wouldnt tell me everything that was in the damn thing... he only said the final drive is around xx.x i know the around numbers but im not gunna post them.. and wouldnt tell me what others gears were used..

so basically tuning with mike would have been impossible.. well boost by gear atleast.

if jo was gunna tune it then the cal was gunna be locked completely. so id never be able to asjust things such as launch and IAT!!!

so i said NOOOO jo trans.


my new trans has: Wavetrac LSD, new synchrotech syncros, new stock 4th gear, new stock countershaft, New shims,bearings (all of them) seals. New case ( bottom half) and some good ole honda factory fill. assembled by me.

thats where i work. furlong motor cars. the owner is a older dude who got started in california, he was a b swap pioneer. he moved to KY after buying a few lifts off a honda dealer and opened a little shop. we actually work on BMWS more than anything else but occasionally a honda will show up with some work done.

that particular red Si has the stock b16a2 with 11.5:1 pistons and new stock rods/ bottom end EVERYTHING. skunk2 "stage 2" cams....PNP/valve job/springs/valves the works. custom race header BLAH BLAH.. Assembled by me. its awaiting some spray!

Dont ask why the stock rods were used because i cant tell you.. ran out of money i guess.

had to pull the trans back out. gotta check out a problem with 1st gear synchro.

hopefully it will be back together by the end of the day tm.

on another note, i was driving the Z and got SMOKED by a modded 06 mustang GT..

times like that make me miss my Si.

car runs good, i like the wavetrac alot and i would suggest anyone with a k get one.

on another note, to make a very long story short, i asked my friend to disconnect my battery and so he did, but when he closed my battery box ( relocated battery to trunk) it pressed the neg cable onto the battery, so i go hacking away into my wiring harness to clean some things up well i go and cut the AFM plug off thinking the battery is unplugged and it shorted out on my clippers... I rewired everything together sloppy to check and see what got f*cked because i knew something would be, and the ELD (electronic load detector) code p1298 tripped along with the Camshaft position bank 1 malfunction code.

the ELD failing causes diffrent problems on diffrent models but only honda uses a "ELD" other brands use similar devices, on the 8th gen it prevents the alt from charging the battery, so i started looking for the ELD, its in the fuse box but underneath it and requires complete teardown of the fuse box.

its 2.10$.. but the labor on it at a shop would for sure be 100+$

SOOOO if anyone with an 8th gen shorts there car out somewhere and you get the ELD code which is P1298 pm and ill help you out.

on the cheap autozone scanners or any cheap OBD scanner it says "manf. fuel air metering malfuction" but on flashpro and snap-on scan tools its actually brings up the real code which is the ELD

running good.

thinking of some cams soon, after watching the skunk2 vids on installing the cams im no longer concerned about doing some cams...

i was thinking atleast 2 days down since id have to do it at work inbetween jobs, but skunk2 found a way to do it in 15 mins.
