At track. Car ran a 13.6 1st run, then a 13.2. I shut it down early and took off easy. I don't want to get kicked out but I was told if I ran faster than 14 W/O flame jacket I would. Last run. Going for twelve and done. Nervous like the first time I had sex. Lol:D

Adam, what were your numbers?

Those are decent Street tire times. With the power your making you should be able to get a little lower ET's.

I made 330 whp and went 12.9 @112
Slicks went 11.9 @115

And just a few weeks ago on slicks untuned revving to 6500 and breaking up I ran 12.1 @115.

13s...... Come on give us a real number drive it like u stole it

Agreed but don't get to hard on the trans. Lol

Car hit wall so lost almost an hour waiting. Last run and done. Ill keep ya posted. If they let mr. 15 minutes and they are closing.

12's are still just a helmet. But all tracks are different. 11's require a cage then a 150trap is a chute and 10pt cage

Yes they definitely are, and they definitely still make straight cut gears for the k series transmission. In the past they also made semi-helical cut gears (much better for a street car), but as of recent that hasn't been listen on their website. This doesn't mean they don't still offer it, but it isn't advertised

The PPG ratios were not the stock ratios, they were their own thing, and they were appropriate for a boosted k IMO, you just need to select the appropriate final drive for your power level.

Yea they used their own ratios. And they also make a 1-2 gears set and a 3-4 gears set as well so you can go in stages of you will. I'm looking to upgrade to a ep3 3-4 and get the ppl 1-2 to help out my 60' times and trap

I used the permatex stuff without an issue. My arp studs came with the recommended lube but it is certainly a necessity. Torquing the bolts dry is actually a different spec then using the lube from what I've read

The assembly lube from arp is just for the head studs and bolts. You want to use regular engine assembly lube for the bearings on the crank, rods, and cams

Was thinking what would better to run on hotside of turbo .82 or .62? Both will spool to high rpms but the benfit of the faster dpool of .62.

Was thinking what would better to run on hotside of turbo .82 or .62? Both will spool to high rpms but the benfit of the faster dpool of .62.

The smaller the A/R on the exhaust side, the quicker the spoolup, but typically less top end flow. A larger A/R on the exhaust side will make for slower spoolup, but more top end flow.

The way it was explained to me was, think of it as blowing air through a straw (small A/R) verses blowing through a 3 inch diameter pipe (larger A/R).

When you blow through the straw, the velocity of the air coming out of the end of the straw will be quite high. However, the straw cannot handle larger amounts of airflow because of its small diameter.

If you were to blow through a 3 inch pipe though, the speed of the air coming out the other end would not be as high. The large diameter of the pipe means it can handle large amounts of airflow.

What are your goals? Log manifold? Custom kit? Probably been posted before but I'm not too active.

Yes I can vouche for that. Don't go smaller than an .82. I'm about to get a gt35 that has an exhaust housing of .9 something or might even be a 1.00. Can't recall off the top of my head. Trying to figure out my ecu problem before I start swapping turbos though.

Thanks man, much appreciated. The more we can help each other, the better.

And just a quick note, unless you're running a built motor and plan on tracking as a main, you shouldn't go higher than a .8x IMO. Gets to be a huge hot side and takes forever and a day or two to spool. (Says the guy with the GT42R with a 1.15 A/R hot side  :self:)

:yeahthat: I agree with this completely. If you get a hotside to big it will just have a lazy spool. It does really depend on the turbo because a very appropriately sized turbo with a higher A/R will still spool well. I had a .64 on my 6262 and the spool was good for what it was. Still made 550+ and still wasn't seeing any restriction.

Mark, the fault was mine. I deleted all posts and traces of it. Complete mistake, I should've spoke to you first.
I've never had an issue with posting any cars before as everyone is excited to have their car featured by BoostedK20. I honestly forgot that you are very quiet about your car, and I sincerely apologize for that.

However, I, along with the BoostedK20 staff, have put in an extreme amount of time creating this community and home to what it is today. I understand that you're upset, but that animosity is a bit unjust. I have stood by you in the past, right or wrong, and I value your participation on this forum. In fact, everyone does. We all make mistakes, and this was an honest and absolute mistake on my part. Everything was taken off about 10-15 minutes ago, no traces are left.

I understand but when post are put into a private section "supporter sections " you expect they won't be shared with the world. I guess I am wrong to have expected that .As far as my being unjust doesn't this forum have a place/ thread for pic submissions ? I am sorry to be upset but I don't post pics of my car on my own fb .It wasn't so much that as it was posting my car and user name whats next my address ?? I'm upset about it and yep a lil crazy at times ask anyone who knows me .I appreciate your removing the post and hope it does not happen again .

It won't happen again. I did not realize it was from the private section of the forum. I didn't go to the post today and take the picture from it, it was saved on my personal database - something along the lines of an 'offshore account'. So, I had no idea thats where it was from. However, there are no excuses. It was an accident, and won't happen again. And you are right, that's why it's a private section. Those posts aren't accessable by anyone except those allowed in the VIP section. They are unsearchable by any search engine, they're practically non-existant. And that is why I am publicly apologizing for my mistake - which is something I hope you can accept.

Although this is a chat thread, let's keep the rest of this convo in PM.

It's a treadstone

What were your numbers with that k24a1 setup and psi it was pushing? Guessing the motor was stock?

on the crv motor stock, i made 350hp and 310ishhh tq, this was on 14lbs on the revhard kit.

I then went on and did the vtec killer setup and on a PTE 6031 i made 410hp and the tq unknown on only 10.8lbs of boost.

Just gonna jump out and say that the results have to be a bit unfair - log manifolds are quite inefficient and make things tough.

Yeah, i hate my kit, but it came with the motor so what can i say. I thought about getting the PLM sidewinder but not sure about the quality. The setup I want down the road is a sidewinder w/ a 6262 BB boosting maybe 7psi. It is still my daily after all. Plus i'm not even on a Kpro. So my number are weak.

well the PLM wil work fine with a slightly bigger turbo that the 6262, but again youll need a better motor to spool it.

I have 3 guys i seen go through problems with that manifold, o cracks doh

I got this weird reflash ecu when i purchased the motor. It is meant for a revhard kit on a stock k20a2. It is tuned by Hondata for daily use.

That is what i want to avoid. I rather spend the extra $ just so i don't have to deal with that headache. Their was a guy on ephatch running a 6262 on a stock motor, but he stop posting long ago. He never said if he was tuned or his numbers. I wonder how his motor handled it.

I have one sitting in my spare parts room. Just never put it in cause the closest tuning shop is in Seattle. which is about 2 hrs drive. I would have to trailer the car down there. I figured why not use the reflash and save for the kit i want plus other parts then get dyno tuned.

Why do you want such a large turbo for only 7 psi?
