View Full Version : Other than takata... what harness would/do you rock?

*not sure if correct section, move if needed*

So I need to get rid of the no name knock off harness I have and get something new and named. Other than the extremely ridiculously over priced Takata harnesses... what harnesses would you recommend for me? Also, what color scheme do you think I should go with? I'm thinking just keep it clean and stick with black.

I run g-Force harnesses and have the same seats but in black ! G-Force harnesses are sfi approved ,well priced , and decent quality .

I know nothing about harnesses, except that they have to be hooked up a certain way to work properly/safely. Love the look of them though. Don't you guys get a SRS light when you don't use the OEM clip?

G-Force is the exact company I was looking at since my local machine shop carries their products :thumb:

my two companies I narrowed it down to are R.J.S and G-Force. My local shop ordered in both sets for me to look at and compare. Pricing are extremely close for both so it's a matter of style now. Both are 6 point wrap around with quick cam lock

So I decided to do the upgrade... then again what's new :)

So I decided the fakatas had to go! Here is what I had
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/gforce%20harness/100_7710.jpg

and here is the back where I had it crossed incorrectly cause at the time I didn't know what I was doing lol
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/gforce%20harness/100_7711.jpg

But now I have FIA/SFI approved harnesses from G-Force
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad22/typespaz/gforce%20harness/100_7707.jpg

The quality on these things are absolutely amazing. So much better, thicker, stronger and nicer than my knockoffs.

Hmm, silver is a good idea too. Didn't think of that. Way to think outside the car :spazapproved:

yeah I plan on getting them painted while they repaint my hood and fenders. I thought it would be a nice touch to bring some of the outside in.

Definitely a good point - kill two birds with one stone. Why are you getting your hood and fenders repainted?

The hood has a major dent in it do to a racing accident... true story:

While on a full pull drag racing the belt snapped and hit the hood so hard it dented it. So I'm having the dent removed and while I'm at it I am shaving the windshield washer nozzles for a cleaner look. My painter said that silver is a hard color to match so he wants to fade the fenders while we're at it. Plus the hood has A LOT of chips from the previous owner....

Status was my other option I was going to go with. But the local machine/speed shop is a supplier of gforce and they give me great deals.

I have yet to encounter a problem with mine and they are quite secure. I've got the 5 point harnesses and let me tell you that 5th point is uncomfortable. Lol

I've never had an issue with mine either and that 5 th point is a bitch haha mine just runs up the center of the front of the seat for now .If I ever get serious about drag racing the car I'd probably put a kirkey seat in the car .

Yea imma go ahead and get it this week when i get my money together (got some other k-tuned parts coming in today actually -__-). Just a new original model one. I talked to your guy Mike at k-tuned for a long time about it and he recommended I stick with the older one just due to the fact that my PPG's aren't dogbox and the car sees auto-x and road course witch isnt too hard on the shifter. He said if i drag raced or had a dogbox to get the newer one.

My oem box was looser than a white girl after she leaves a black guy hahaha. In like each gear you had about 2 inches of play side to side :rotfl:

Im not upgrading anytime soon from that once i get it. I really don't even wanna buy this k-tuned shifter but after pure abuse for 2 years this buddy club served it purpose for only 100 bucks :thumb:
