Just seeing if anyone else here is in a band? I just joined a new band last night. Pretty excited, my new years resolution was to get back into a band this year so finally made that happen.

I play the drums. My hobbies are extremely addictive and expensive (cars and drums) One of my drumsets is valued/insured at $22k and it's my pride and joy. Then I have 4 other drumsets too.

This is my Maple Monster

That's a really nice drum kit you have there! I played trumpet growing up and actually majored in music in college, at first as a music education major, but decided education was not for me, so now I have a music management degree. I haven't played in a couple years though, having to play 6+ hours a day every day for my first 2 years in college kinda killed it for me. What kind of music does your new band play?

The new band is completely different for me. I just went for fun. They are a band rock/pop band. So they take main stream songs and pump them up, redo them more rock but loads of fun and catchy pop. I'm basically filling in for awhile as their drummer is having a baby.

For myself I have a Percussion Performance degree and I love extremely technical and challenging progressive music. So this is just a fun walk in the park. But had our first practice last night and just loved it.

Damn! Thats a sick drumset you have.
I have 3 Acoustic Guitars, 3 Electric Guitars, and one Ukulele.
I do Have a drum kit but I barely play it. Its nothing special like yours lol

I used to be in a band but We split because it was hard to fit everyones schedule for practices and whatnot.

Right on. So, any of your kits sonor or tama? I play sax, music ed degree. Playing 6 to sometimes 8 hours a day was awesome. Being a teacher and having a son does not afford me the time anymore. I wish I went in to performance. But I play in the mambo 911 orchestra and live for music. See, I knew some of you guys had more going on in your heads than cars and tender gender. Cool.
