I need to re do my VC after I get some fittings welded on. I also need to figure out where I can mount a catch can. Maybe under the wiper shroud.

The last one I did I put two 10an fittings on the back and ran the catch can under the wiper shroud where the cruise control was :giggle:

This ones gonna have two 10an fittings too..... just not sure where imma put them yet, thinking the side or something no ones done

Thats what I was thinking. I might just buy the battery relocator and mount the can there.

That would be such a bitch to finish. Once you get it polished you should clear coat it so you don't have to keep polishing

Yessir! I'm a dog lover. Im going to post pics of the dogs up close for everyone to see. I drive this car on the street 3 or 4 days a week and it looks like the gears havent even been used. Full throttle 1st to 2nd no clutch and all that fun stuff.

lol hey quick question for jew... the gears on the mainshaft can come off by hand right? Mine is already disassembled but i thought you needed a press for it? Or was that just for the countershaft?

I've always used my press for both, the only thing I recall being able to remove without the press is the bearing on top of the main shaft.

really? well shit... all the mainshaft stuff came off with some wiggling. like it was a 45 sec process for me to take it all apart and another 2 min to put it back on.... could that be an issue? Cant find anything specific about it online

I'm honestly not 100% sure. I'm pretty positive the service manual says to use a press on the main shaft as well. I can say it is significantly harder to press off the gears from the counter shaft than the main shaft.

I went through it as well, and i saw it said to use a press for the gears but I didn't find anything about if the gears just came off lol i was excited at first but then started getting concerned about tolerances of the mainshaft

nope no play, it does take a little bit of force to get them in and out, but nothing a no-muscle-tone guy like me couldnt handle. But I just asked Martin to ask Brian from SpeedLab his thoughts, and he said that he has never needed a press on any k series mainshaft, only on the counter. So ill just roll with it for now and if i have an issue ill address it later.

oh and thanks Adam for recommending Vdub to me, should be getting a replacement for my broken parts from him soon
