Ya most builds peak there, but with E85 and coated rotors you can make a good bit more. A guy in DE is making right around 400whp with his roots blower, I can't remember if his is CT or JR, I believe it is CT, but he has the coated rotors in the blower from the colbalt.

It absolutely is... Supercharging becomes very much like an all motor build once you reach a certain power level, just doing lots of little things to get extra power. If I want more power I just turn up the boost :shrug:

ACL uses a standard Honda green bearing i believe. So you really can't control exact tolerances with them. Where as the Honda bearings you can measure exactly what size you need

Gotcha, I have ACL bearings in my bottom end, and I know the machine shop had to use two different sized bearings in some places to get the correct clearances.

They are more meant for racecars where the motor is torn down and rebuilt a lot. Its kind of the same concept as aluminum rods. Also to answer your question from before yes the block will be sleeved. I wont be shooting for that much power right away, but I figured while I have everything out I should just go ahead and sleeve it so I wont have to pull it later to get sleeved.

Gotcha, I was suggest to use them as I was told they hold up to forged internals better than OEM bearings, as my pistons and especially the rods are heavier than stock.

Snuck in a little work on the car this morning. Drilled and tapped my RRC brake booster port for 1/4" NPT so I can run an AN line to the brake booster.

Anybody know if the booster is aluminum or steel?

I think you do need to re-shim that area if you change out the LSD. When I was looking into shimming mine, I called a local transmission shop and they said they could check the couple measurements that I didn't have the tools for. Like a dial indicator thing for the mainshaft, like how far how it sticks... I'd have to look at the service manual again.

I got my boys exhaust who used to live in my apt complex last year when my 90mm was being made. I was running open header and had a two hour drive, so i just jacked it up, popped his exhaust on my car and texted him after I left I was gonna borrow his exhaust for a hour or two :rotfl: :rotfl:

I just changed my tranny fluid to synchromesh and thought it would solve the problem but it still grinds going from 2nd to 3rd above 5k rpms. It doesnt pop out or anything it just grinds and goes in

Trust me, your cars very smart, it only breaks the things it needs upgraded........ Like when I blasted my trans apart what broke? stock axles, open diff, 1st gear, and 2nd gear........ Nothing else broke lol. Final drive was untouched because it knew it was already upgraded and didn't need replacing. The car knew it needed stronger axles, LSD, and a stronger 1st and 2nd :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Best thing to do is find a tranny in a car and test drive it before they pull it and your pretty much set (but most of the time thats not possible :( )

I mean you can open it up and look at the gears and syncros before you buy it is another thing, but you gotta be able to pull it apart and inspect it or have someone you know pull it apart and look at it for you.

But mostly its an iffy situation. I brought an A2 trans without opening it up before I brought it a couple weeks ago from a local guy (I knew him cause of local car meets). But he told me the trans was in perfectly running shape, stock A2 gears, and quaife LSD......... Trans was in pretty good shape and did have quaife LSD, but did not have 4.3FD, it came with 4.7FD, and 4th gear has a very slight gear whine to it...... But I mean for the price I got it at I really couldn't bitch because it was a COMPLETE steal so MEH :sigh:

yeah, but how long ago was that. A simple google search could point you in the direction to making a better manifold. I heard in the cx racing chat that they weld a support bracket on the manifold and it hits the valve cover lol.

Oh, you should have seen the guy that put my new quarter panel on. Goofy ass dude with a lazy eye. I was like oh shit this isnt gunna come out good, but he did a pretty sick job. The spot welds in the trunk look better then factory. He also did a shit ton of extra work for me. This was my hood.

So I sanded it as much as possible and then he smoothed everything out with filler. Came out sick in my opinion and the car looks so mean in person now. Not bad for a 100$ hood!

Yea but I don't like the kind in the air spray can. I like the jelly kind in the can you can spray outta a gun, that shits pure acid and I'm sure its bad for the environment. Like even when you open the can outside the air around you goes away :rotfl: :rotfl:

I need to re do my VC after I get some fittings welded on. I also need to figure out where I can mount a catch can. Maybe under the wiper shroud.
